About this property
Enjoy the View From this Charming Lakefront House in Private Park
Lake Erie lakefront property. Lake views from windows, doors, deck and porches
An Old Lake House at Mitiwanga Park on the shores of Lake Erie is reminiscent of days gone by. This quirky 200 year old house has charm and character. The house retains a relaxing comfort, but has all the convenience of modern times. Entering from the East Drive porch there is a downstairs hallway and bathroom. The open kitchen welcomes you with its sunny disposition and lake views. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay and more. The large living room with refinished wood floors, comfortable seating, game table, chairs and gas fireplace is through the kitchen doorway. It has inviting lake views from all the windows. Open the front door and you enter the enclosed porch facing the lake. There are places to sit down, read a book, have drinks, throw down your beach towel and have a nice conversation, or just enjoy the sounds of the lake and take a nice nap. Up the stairs are the 3 spacious bedrooms, all with lake views. The LOFT ROOM is cozy with a Queen bed and loft area. The loft is sturdy enough for an adult and safe enough for an 8 year old. The DORM ROOM is roomy, with 2 Twin beds and a Queen bed and large dressing closet with vanity area. Step down one step to the S’MORE ROOM with a Twin bed and a Queen bed. There is still room for a Pack-N-Play (which is provided) to be set up. A large bathroom with claw foot tub and laundry facilities are in between these 2 rooms. There are lake views from all the bedrooms.
Mitiwanga means the peaceful sand beach. Just step out of the enclosed porch, onto the outdoor deck area, and straight down the grassy hill are those beaches that give Mitiwanga its name. Sit on the front deck or the lake front benches and admire the view. On a clear day you can see Cedar Point and the nearby islands. In the evening from the house windows, porch or deck enjoy some of the most beautiful unique sunsets you’ll ever experience. An Old Lake House at Mitiwanga Park is an adult and child friendly environment that offers something for everyone.
Within the family-friendly Mitiwanga Park there are tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts and other park amenities, all for the exclusive use of residents and their guests/tenants. Same with the beaches and piers, which are great for fishing.

A wonderful, lean and well-appointed lake house that we keep visiting because it’s so charming. Perfectly located on the lake with its own beach. The host is friendly, fantastic and on top of everything.
This was our second stay at An Old Lake House and we were happy to be back. Beautiful lake views and fun on the beach were a great way to cap off the summer. This classic lakeside house is lovely and comfortable, and starting to feel like home!
We loved our stay here!!! We brought our kids for the first time to Cedar Point and the location was absolutely perfect to get back and forth to CP. You can even see CP from the beach in the distance across Lake Erie, so so pretty at sunset. You are literally right on the lake! Book this property you won’t regret it. We LOVED it!!!!
The lake worked its magic again on this, our 3rd stay at The Old Lake House. Such a comfortable property with a fine patina and such gorgeous views and breezes and so lovingly cared for.
This comfortable, inviting house had everything we needed for a relaxing stay at the lake. Our family spent as much time as possible on the enclosed porch, deck and beach to enjoy clear summer days, beautiful sunsets and pretty cool storms over the lake. We look forward to visiting again.
Very cute house in a great location. The property manager was great and house had everything you could need. My only critique would be that the mattresses are rough. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Our group of six had a wonderful time in this home. The kitchen had everything we needed to enjoy cooking meals together. The beds were very comfy too. Would recommend to anyone wanting a Lake Erie experience.
We had a great stay. Everything you need is there. Even a pack n play and high chair! It was a perfect location to get down to the beach quickly. We had a lovely time!
Loved sitting in the living room or on the porch or in the kitchen and looking out onto the lake. We enjoyed our quiet stay … the house was exceptionally clean, the kitchen well supplied with useful things. The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant.
Such a cute lake house painted in retro colors taking you back to a quiet quaint time before all the modern minimalist makeovers. Very spacious and lots of sitting room! Right on the lake.
If you're looking for a Lake Erie getaway in an established beach community, this location can't be beat! A charming, historic house with a ton of amenities and amazing access to a private beach. Patty was very communicative and easy to work with. We will be returning.
We had such a nice time at this Lake House! The property was very clean and comfortable. Clear instructions from the owner/manager, and the location cannot be beat. We were also blessed with summer weather in April, which was a bonus. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
This was our 3rd time staying at The Old Lake House and we just love it so much. AND now we can play pickle ball too lol! We have already booked for 2024... we love this place and Patty!
This was my fourth stay at An Old Lake House, and it was as wonderful as ever. The house is so comfortable and well equipped, and the owner is super responsive when unexpected problems arise. The lake provides a fine backdrop for both play, rest, or reflection — whatever you choose. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Loved it. Great location on the lake itself, as well as being situated between Sandusky and the towns to the east.
