The house was fantastic! Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained. The views of the river and surrounding area are spectacular with easy access to the river itself. We had a wonderful trip and look forward to returning.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Guadalupe River Retreat house. It was roomy, clean and the view was excellent. Everything we needed was there and the host checked on us after we arrived to see if there was anything we needed.

Lovely and relaxing stay

The best hill country property at which I've stayed. Conveniently close to Boerne, yet also providing peaceful solitude. The property has a river-facing brace of windows that allows contemplation of a pristine stretch of the Guadalupe River. An outstanding place to stay.

Relaxing as usual

We have stayed here before and it’s a perfect place to relax, read a book, and wet a line. Enjoyed the fall colors and the wildlife too.

We had a great time during our stay. It was remarkably quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the birds and the Axis herd that came through almost every morning.

Family Vacation

We had a great time. The only problem was that we had hoped that we would have been able to go down to the river at our rental property; however the trail down was much too steep and access to the river was not possible.

Amazing weekend get away!

The views!!!! Spotless house, everything we needed to make breakfast and a steak dinner, awesome fire pit, you can hear the river running so peaceful, beautiful heard of Sika deer graze by the river...did I mention the views??? We had an awesome time.

Peaceful weekend getaway

Loved the property. The walk down to the river was too steep for us but the sounds of te water running was a nice soundtrack to relaxing on the deck and watching the birds and the deer. The house was spotless and well appointed. Great kitchen and living area. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful home and property

We absolutely loved this home and the proximity to the river! It was so peaceful to make a fire in the fire pit at night, and listen to the birds in the morning. We had a minor issue in the home when we arrived, and we received prompt and helpful attention. Everything was just beautiful and well cared for. We would definitely stay here again.

A Natural Oasis near to great activities

Fantastic! Beautiful home. We loved listening to the river from the porch and watching wildlife, including White-tailed and axis deer, wild turkeys, and a bobcat. We heard birds not common where we live: canyon wren, screech owl, etc. We hope to visit again with family.

The house is spectacular and the views are amazing. The privacy offered a wonderful, secluded setting. The house was exceptionally clean and stocked with all the needed items such as pots, pans, toiletries, and the like. It was beautifully furnished and decorated. The hosts were quick to respond and very accommodating. The ad stated a 3-pet limit, but when we asked to bring our 4th fur baby, the hosts quickly obliged. We also asked if a later check out was possible. Since no one was immediately checking in, they gave us until 1:00 p.m. to check out! Couldn't ask for more!The only real downside was access to the river. "Please be sure to watch your footing on the approach to the Guadalupe, for it can be steep" was listed under one photo. This was the only place it was mentioned and greatly understates the access. It was extremely steep and difficult to navigate. Even our children in their mid 40's who are both slim and in shape had a difficult time. As we're both 70, we didn't even attempt it. Due to the recent heavy rains, the river was flowing nicely, so that wasn't a factor. It was just steep and quite a distance away. While full disclosure might not have dissuaded our booking, a clearer understanding might have avoided the disappointment.

Peaceful Weekend Getaway

This house was more than I thought it was going to be. It was just perfect for the weekend getaway myself, husband, kids and dogs needed. The view is so serene and the house was beautiful. At night we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and listening to the sounds of nature. Spencer was always so responsive with any questions we had. We cannot wait to rent this house again this summer.
