Monique is a very friendly landlord. The vacation home or castle is located in a quiet and “hidden” spot in a rural area, but only 5 km from the sea. The nearest shopping facilities are only a 5-minute drive away. The cottage dates back to the 16th century and exudes a medieval charm. During the renovation, great care was taken to ensure that this was not destroyed. When we arrived, the house was very well prepared for us. The furnishings are practical and fit well with the style of the house. We felt very comfortable. We were two people, but this house would also be suitable for a vacation with 4-5 people.

Wonderfully peaceful and relaxing stay

This gĂźte, converted from the cider pressing room of the ancient manor house of La Hougue, is full of history and charm. It is really peaceful - a kilometre from the nearest through road, with dark skies and a beautiful canopy of stars. The facilities are rustic and comfortable, with everything needed for a self-catering break away from it all.

Country charm in Normandy

We used this as our base for visiting the Normandy Beaches and St Mere Eglise. It met all our needs for s family of 4. Monique is a very nice host and greeted us upon arrival. Coming from the U.S. the only aspect that took some getting use to was disposing dirty toilet paper into a garbage can. But then again this is a 500+ year old estate, there was plenty of modern amenities that allowed for us to cook dinners i stead of eating out every night. Utah Beach, St Mere Église and Carentan are all a short 20-25 minute drive.

Sehr ruhig gelegen und freundliche Gastgeberin. Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet. Leider waren ĂŒberall Spinnenweben und auch Insekten. Die Toilette war fĂŒr uns ungewöhnlich, da das benutzte Papier in MĂŒllbeutel entsorgt werden musste. Auch ein GelĂ€nder an der Treppe nach oben wĂ€re empfehlenswert, da man recht leicht abrutschen kann! Das Haus war wie erwartet etwas abgelegen, aber innerhalb von ein paar wenigen Kilometern konnte man alles finden, was man benötigt!

Accueil et gĂźte magnifique !

Nous avons louĂ© le gĂźte du manoir de la Hougue pour une petite semaine de dĂ©tente dans le Cotentin. L’endroit est superbe et la dĂ©pendance a Ă©tĂ© absolument parfaite pour notre groupe de 3 personnes. Le logement est bien Ă©quipĂ© et isolĂ© de la « chaleur », mĂȘme si nous avons eu une mĂ©tĂ©o mitigĂ©e! Monique, la propriĂ©taire, a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs disponible et Ă  l’écoute, merci encore pour votre accueil ! Concernant la mocalisation, le anoir est situĂ© au milieu de « nulle part », comptez une vingtaine de minutes en voiture pour Saint Vaast La Hougue et les premiers commerces. Autre petit point, le rĂ©seau ne passe pas mais il y a de la WIFI au gĂźte. Merci encore pour tout et nous n’hĂ©siterons pas Ă  revenir et Ă  recommander le lieu Ă  nos connaissances :) Alexandrine, Raoul et Benjamin.

Un moment atypique agreable

Un ancien cellier adossĂ© Ă  un manoir dans la campagne normande, pas trĂšs facile Ă  trouver . La dĂ©co est un peu spĂ©ciale typee marocaine, nous avons beaucoup apprĂ©ciĂ© le poĂȘle et son cĂŽtĂ© cosy. Nous recherchions le calme et le cĂŽtĂ© atypique cosy donc trĂšs bien. La propriĂ©taire nous a gentiment prĂȘtĂ© le linge de toilette que nous avions oubliĂ© .

Bon et agréable séjour

Bon sĂ©jour, bel environnement, propriĂ©taire au top. Juste un bĂ©mol... Un lit 2 personnes c'est pas deux lits 1 personne que l'on rassemble avec un draps house, c'est un vrai sommier 140*190 avec un seul matelas de mĂȘme taille ( Oui j ai trĂšs mal dormi ) c'est trĂšs dommage car le reste Ă©tait nikel. MalgrĂ© cela je recommande fortement ce sĂ©jour.
