We loved the house/cottage set up which worked well for our family vacation. The house is very well fitted with just about everything one might need, including lots of beach items. The location is ideal— away from the busy sections of the island, but close to the remote shore areas.
Had a wonderful time here with family! Loved the two connecting houses to separate those who go to bed early and those who stay up late to not disturb each other. The house was clean and spacious. Had a great time and hope to be back!
We had the most fabulous time at Cedar Haven! The property is beautiful and makes you feel right at home. Cedar Haven was our own slice of paradise for the week. We will most definitely be back (:

Thank you so much for your kind words, Abi! We’re so glad Cedar Haven felt like home and that you had a great stay. You’re welcome back anytime — we’d love to host you again!
This property was perfect for our large family. We loved the cottage for our families with smaller kiddos. The house had everything you could possibly want and need for a vacation and beach use. The new patio was incredible for our large family meals. The house was nestled in a super quiet area of the island. We loved everything about our stay at cedar haven!
My mother, friends and I visited for a week. Surprised with fresh flowers at check-in! Th house had more home-like touches from Sarah: lots of puzzles, games, a phone charging station, lots of toilet paper. With the two buildings, porch, and patio we (maybe only rarely) felt on-top of each other. The outdoor shower was a hit - even for those new to Block Island! There was a drip coffeemaker in addition to the Keurig - important when getting a group UpAndOut quickly.I hope to return to Cedar Haven soon!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review, Amanda! I’m really glad the little touches helped make your stay comfortable, and that everyone enjoyed the space (and the outdoor shower!). You were a wonderful group to host — we’d love to welcome you back to Cedar Haven on your next visit to BI!
We had a really great week with family and friends at Cedar Haven. What an awesome house - the set up is perfect for multiple families and teens.
The house is clean and comfy with everything you could possibly need. The outside patio is beautiful with out door speakers and plenty of seating. The huge table was perfect for summer dinners and rounds of rummy cube.
Our teens loved the "kid house" where they had their own hangout ( we liked that too) and Ken was so responsive and receptive. We will be back for sure.
Wonderful multigenerational stay at Cedar Haven.
The listing is accurate and the house is well appointed and stocked.
We loved having the separate cottage for my daughter's family but also the main house to gather and enjoy the air-conditioning, which was definitely needed during our week of humidity.
Note there are no TV' s in main house, which usually wouldn't be an issue but we did miss be able to keep track of the Olympics.
Communication with Sarah was quick and easy. A snafu with linens was quickly fixed.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Kelly! We're thrilled to hear that Cedar Haven was the perfect spot for your multigenerational getaway. It sounds like you made the most of the separate cottage, and enjoyed the cool air conditioning in the main house—definitely a must when it's hot + humid! So happy that we were able to help with the linens. Thanks again for staying with us, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Awesome! that is what the older boys said. I want to stay here and not go home from the younger ones. We, the parents and grandmother relaxed, played, hiked, biked and fished and laid on the beach and followed Ken's great advice. Just what we all needed after a very stressful 18 months. Note: I would suggest buying groceries on the mainland before taking the ferry over. The markkup to transport supplies to the grcoery is high.. karen
We had three generations with us on this vacation and everyone loved the serene setting of this house and this part of the island. Our goal this year was to cook more of our food and the kitchen provided all that we needed in the way of cookware, accessories and servingware. We even happily made use of the lobsterpot for a lobster dinner. We really enjoyed the outdoor shower and even the clothesline. On a windy day we took out one of the kites stored in the basement and that provided hours of entertainment for us and the kids. The weather for our week, the last of August was cooler than we were used to being that we usually go to Block Island in July but water was warm and spending time outdoors was actually a bit easier. We loved the many options for seating outside with differing views and amounts of sun exposure. We comfortably had many dinners under the pergola making use of the lights and sound system. We would certainly recommend this house to friends and family.

This property felt more like a vacation with family, than just a "rental house." The Browns literally opened their home to us and provided so many comforts of home that most rental homes don't provide (saran-wrap, dryer sheets, charging stations, nice hand soaps, band-aids, cleaning tools, books, games, flower vases, tools, and so much more). The location is quiet and secluded with views of the ocean. Ken is fast with communication, witty, and kind. The 2 different houses provided separation for the early risers and the night owls. We spent the majority of our time outside and never needed bug spray; I literally saw 1 mosquito the whole week. Deer come to the yard to eat apples. It really is a beautiful property in every way possible.
We rented Cedar Haven for our annual family vacation (6 adults & 4 teens) to BI. The home was absolutely beautiful inside and out. It was well stocked with everything one would need for a beach vacation. The 2 buildings are both incredibly comfortable and worked well for our mix of adults & teens. Ken provided a great information sheet & was easy to contact both before & during our stay.
