This was our second stay at the house it’s updated, clean and comfortable. Sara was a very responsive host and communication was easy. We will definitely be back next time we are coming to the kingdom trails.
We enjoyed staying in this beautifully renovated home. It was spacious, comfortable and well stocked. The host was so responsive and we really appreciated all they do to make it so comfortable.
My friends and I rented this cabin and the adjoining guest house for a long weekend. It was the only property in the area that accommodated the size of our group and our wishlist, so we were happy to find it available. Sara was very pleasant and communicative up front but when I confirmed the size of our group (fitting the exact number of beds listed for both properties) that inexplicably seemed to raise concerns. After that there were a lot more questions and a waiver to sign and fill out with the full names and dates of birth of my friends and I, which I suppose I can understand from the host's perspective and did follow through with, but felt a little invasive and preemptively accusatory. The property itself was beautiful and conveniently located. We had a wonderful stay while we were there and took advantage of every amenity, including the hot tub. Afterwards there was continued communication from Sara about the condition of the oven (that we left in working order, it was just dirty; the cleaners managed to clean it but it appears to have caused prolonged anxiety). And almost a month after our stay I received another text about an item a friend left behind in a miscommunication, and frustration that we'd left it at all.Overall while my friends and I truly enjoyed staying here I would advise future renters to be conscientious of a more involved host and putting some additional emotional labor there to keep things smooth.
I can't say enough about how nice the place was. We were all very comfortable and since we are bikers it was a fantastic location. We will be back for sure.
Our family stayed here with another family to ski at Burke Mountain. We had 5 kids under 10 and the house was perfect for us. The bunk room was a hit with the kids but there were also additional spaces to sleep if needed. The hot tub was such a bonus, we could sit there after a day of skiing and watch the sunset or any activity on the NEK trails. It was a great location, we had a blast and would definitely book this house again.
Celebrated my husbands 40th bday with a much needed visit to the NEK for some of the best bike riding Vermont has to offer (and we are Vermonters). The house was spacious and comfortable to accommodate us with our 4 month old, friends and a couple other small children. The hose was avail for communication and was very accommodating. The outdoor space was also wonderful! Will def book again!
Our stay in Burke was very comfortable.
From the beginning Sara and Scott arranged a very easy check in and sent us a lot of helpful recommendations for our week.
The house was clean, and the house had great outdoor space that our kids loved.
We could ride out bikes directly from our house onto the Kingdom trails network.
The house was well equipped, which we made a lot of use out of cooking for the kids quite a bit.
The hot tub was very relaxing, and also made a nice distraction for the kids.
We would definitely rent this house again.
Sara was an amazing host! She went above and beyond to help us before we arrived and to make us feel welcome throughout our stay. Our kids loved the welcoming snacks!
The entire property was so clean and covid friendly. All linens and towels were new or freshly laundered right before we arrived.
We had plenty of space for our family of 5. We loved the sledding hill on the property! Direct access to the VAST trails were amazing to enjoy snowmobiling and cross country skiing right from the front door. We even were able to ski into town for breakfast one morning.
It was a great getaway and we can't wait to return!
Great home close to Burke Mt and mountain biking trails, my kids loved the hot tub and swing and the house was a great layout for staying with friends as well. Sara was a very communicative and generous host!
We had a great stay over labor day weekend. The house was as listed and had everything you could need. We hiked, mountain biked, horse back riding and visited lake willoughby. Great town to do it all.
the location was perfect for us, the hosts were accessible and accommodating, and most of all, the property was absolutely lovely. well stocked with everything you could need in the kitchen, wonderful bathrooms, plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, beautiful views, wicked fun hot tub. we would love to return!
Lovely and super clean property with many thoughtful details for the cycling and outdoor adventure crowds. Host is amazing. We go up to Burke at least twice a year and this is our new favorite place to stay.
This rental is perfect! We had a group of friends enjoying a weekend of riding at the Kingdom Trails. Sara and Scott were great hosts! In addition to outlining everything we needed to know about the house, they offered up great suggestions for rides. The house was clean and had every amenity we needed. The deck was perfect for hanging out and enjoying the views. Did I mention the hot tub? We put it to use after a long day of riding. Access to trails is right out the back door..no need to drive anywhere. We were so happy we found this gem. We will be back next year!
We had a relaxing weekend in East Burke. The cabin was well appointed, clean and a exactly what we wanted/expected. Communication with the owner Sara was very good as well.
Fantastic Home, Excellent Spot for Family Ski Vacation
The home was excellent. Clean, spacious, great location and set up. 5 Min from Burke Mountain which was great for our family. Sara (the host) was tremendous and went above and beyond to help us with a few hiccups we had. I would highly recommend this house.
Sarah was amazing from start to finish through this entire process. We booked the house for a girls MTB weekend and it was perfect. I would definitely look to book this space again and highly recommend it.
My only note would be that there is another unit on the property and it is much closer than I expected (very close together). This "bunk house" had a large group of guys staying in it (many more people than beds). It did make for parking and logistics to be a bit more cramped but otherwise was not an issue.
