Idyllic setting with pool in Koppany Nature Park directly on the walking trails.
Located in the Koppany Valley Nature Park Koppany Pines offers 20 pitches where you can immerse in nature, involve yourself with one of the onsite projects or activities, hike or cycle the Koppany Trails, explore Lake Balaton and hungarian history, birdwatch, fish at a nearby private lake, star-gaze from our mini-deck, partake in some campfire cooking or preparation of goods for the Village Guest Table menu – or just relax by the pool looking out over the valley.
KOPPÁNY VALLEY NATURE PARK …is a protected area and as such nature and wildlife are living in harmony with us. As it is one of Hungary’s more underdeveloped areas wildlife and plants have flourished. Since taking ownership of the campsite we are working towards at an eco-friendly campsite that sits comfortably in it’s environment by growing meadow fields and returning some of the hardstanding pitches to grass. All this gives you the opportunity to sit at your pitch and be at one with nature – be warned this includes butterflies, moths, bugs and insects! Each morning you will wake to a chorus of bird song before deciding how to fill your day. At night the unpolluted skies offer the ideal opportunity for stargazing and to make the most of this we have built our own mini observatory deck.
The campsite is directly on one of the Koppány Valley Trails, perfect for grabbing a packed lunch and setting out for the day. Closeby we have the national bird reserve of Pacsmags Lakes which sits off a bike route or further afield Kiz Balaton with it’s water buffalo reserve where it’s possible to be taken round by horse and cart.

About the host
Hosted by Mark Kenning
About Mark Kenning The truth is we had no intention of coming to Hungary to live, but we saw this site on our facebook, visited and fell in love. We have taken the last year to restore the property and campsite to a level we feel proud to offer to our guests. We are avid travelling and have really enjoyed learning about Hungary, it's traditions and cultures. We are still exploring the countryside around us which is reminiscent of a John Constable painting and we can't wait to share our growing knowledge.
Why they chose this property
The site is so peaceful set on the walking trails you can't help but relax and listen to nature's sounds. You will often be sat at the bar and see a deer peering through the fence. It feels like you have escaped from the maddening crowd. Step out the gates and you are able to walk one way deep into the forest and countryside or the other you have a 10 minute walk to the village with its shop, buses and Kocsma (pub).
What makes this property unique
You can watch the stars at night, sit round the campfire, have a drink at bar in the warm night air or pack up a picnic and walk to one of the viewpoint picnic tables in the area. If you are feeling more adventurous you are centrally located to discover many of the historical offerings this side of the lake, a wine tour or visit the famous Lake Balaton, with everyone's favourite Lake Tihany ferry being about a 40 minute drive. The beauty of this campsite is that you get to choose the pace!
