Quiet and peaceful

We are a retired couple. We were within a 40 mile travel to a lot of activities suited for us. We enjoyed our stay at cottage, had a full kitchen. Was supplied with all the essentials needed.

Double booked and we are grateful!

I honestly can not rate any of the above. We didn't stay here because when we arrived, it was already occupied, it had been double booked. We were forced to find other accommodations and for that we are extremely grateful because IT WAS PERFECT! A call back, text back or some sort of acknowledgement and apology from the owner would have been nice.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME

After confirming our reservation for a trip less than a week away, the host messaged us that the house was already booked for the same dates. When we asked how our money would be returned, the host told us that we would have to cancel the reservation. The host's cancellation policy was already past the deadline for a full refund, so we called VRBO to ask what we should do before agreeing to a partial refund. VRBO said the host would have to cancel and give us the refund, so VRBO contacted the host and said it needed to be taken care of in 24 hours. VRBO also told us that the property's score in VRBO's algorithm is affected if the host has to cancel due to a double-booking. From there, the host was lying to us and saying that she couldn't "find" our reservation or name to cancel it. After we provided her with the reservation ID and our name, she stopped responding to us completely. We had to call VRBO seven different times in eleven days before they finally overrode the host and refunded our money. And... the host had been informed by us that the purpose of the trip was to visit a terminally ill family member. We had no problem with the the second reservation we made on a different listing platform. You might want to just start there.
