About this property
Cute Ozark Mountain cabin in the woods: a quiet escape or adventurous exploring
The Ozark Hideaway is the perfect place for a cozy, quiet getaway. It’s secluded location is 8 miles from quaint Gainesville, MO, home of Hootin-n-Hollerin, in Ozark County on a well-maintained gravel road. Abundant wildlife abounds throughout the 90 wooded acres, and white-tailed deer can often be seen grazing nearby. You can enjoy the well-marked hiking trails and, if you are lucky and rains have come, relax by the natural waterfall. Either way, you are sure to be amazed at the unusual, volcanic-like rock formations found in that area. If you are the more adventurous type, you may choose to venture off the trails and explore the wooded area on your own. Or, you may want to visit some of the other attractions in the area, such as the grist mills, Caney Mountain Refuge, or some of the numerous lakes, rivers and streams for seasonal adventures in floating, fishing, swimming, or boating. If you aren’t looking for adventure but just want to rest, relax, and rejuvenate, you have definitely come to the right place. The quiet, peaceful serenity of Ozark Hideaway is hard to describe. You really must experience it for yourself. The views are breathtaking; the stars are brilliant; the air is clean; the quiet is calming. The cabin itself is most often described by our guests as “so cute, cozy, and homey”. The living room offers a gas fireplace/stove, comfortable seating, and a 50" flatscreen tv on antenna with Blue Ray DVD player. You will find a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator, and plenty of dishes, appliances and cookware. A beautifully furnished bedroom with queen bed and antique dresser has a sliding door onto the covered porch and ample windows to enjoy the wooded view and gorgeous sunsets. Additional sleeping space is provided by a single bed in the loft area. The spacious bathroom has a walk-in shower, as well as a hidden washer and dryer. A fire pit is available for cozy campfires and roasting hot dogs, as well as a chiminea to warm you on the back porch. This delightful cabin in a picturesque setting is sure to be a favorite getaway for you.

What a great place to stay! The host is very welcoming, helpful, and an all around great person. The cabiin has everything you'd want including a washer and dryer. The property has hiking trails right out the back door. We had a great time exploring the area from the Mark Twain forest to trails around Northern Arkansas.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The cabin is so quaint and has absolutely everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The host, Anne, is an exceptional person that shows true care for the property and for her guests. We felt right at home here and loved the fact she took a little time out of her schedule to chat with us. The land is beautiful, and the trails Anne maintains on the property are perfect for a morning hike! You will not go wrong staying here if peace and tranquility are what you are after!

Rebecca, thank you for your wonderful review! I so enjoyed meeting with y’all. It means so much to me that you felt at home and I can’t wait to host y’all again in the future! Take care!
Very cute. Beautiful view. Cozy gas fireplace. Comfy bed. Welcoming host. Clear trails with some slightly steep climbs on the property. Very pet friendly. Would stay again
This was one of the BEST stays I’ve ever had. The cabin was immaculate, the grounds beautiful, the amenities stocked, and most amazingly - our hostess Anne was incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. Staying here felt like staying at home - it was just perfect and I would absolutely come back, no question about it. If you want to stay somewhere secluded, tranquil, beautiful, and relaxing - CHOOSE THIS HIDEAWAY! There’s marked trails to hike ON the property, beautiful stargazing opportunity, you’re 10 minutes from a grocery store, and 20-30 from nature activities of your choice. It may seem distant from civilization - but these days, that’s not so bad. Anne will make you feel right at home and your stay with leave you wishing to take a few extra days of PTO to stay longer! 10/5 stars!

We had a wonderful experience at the Ozark Hideaway cabin! Anne is an excellent host! She is very friendly and a wonderful communicator. I always heard back from her in a timely manner if I had any questions. The cabin was very clean and the Christmas decorations were so pretty and just perfect to match the old fashioned theme. The cabin was very quaint and cozy, just what our family prefers. Our little boy loved climbing the ladder to the cute little loft. The whole vibe felt like a Grimms' Brothers fairy tale, which I loved! We went hiking on day one and had picnics on both days. The woods and hiking trails were beautiful and we can't wait to go back during wet weather to be able to enjoy the waterfalls! Five stars from our family! :)

I stayed here for a few days for a private retreat. It was quiet, tranquil and just what I needed. The cabin has everything you need. Anne is a great host. Very welcoming and attentive to anything you might need but respectful of your privacy. The property is wonderful and I loved the trails on-site are excellent. Perfect for a short excursion.
Candace, it was such a pleasure to host you and your husband. I noticed that you rated us with one star, may I ask what was not satisfactory for y’all so that we may improve or address any issues?
We absolutely loved our stay. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing. If we make it back to Missouri this cabin is definitely on our places stay list. Oh..and she makes the best zucchini blueberry muffins <3

A perfect, quiet, well furnished place with lovely host and welcoming committee of pets! Beautiful fall colors right out the back door. Close enough to grand gulf state park, close to Caney Mt. Conservation area (very pretty!) and Byrant Creek St. Park (also beautiful!). Spent a 3 day fall break trip there and it was a good choice. Highly recommend it!

Why they chose this property
Although off the beaten path, our recently renovated cabin offers a lovely and peaceful place to stay, yet is in close proximity to Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes, the North Fork of the White River, Bryant Creek, Caney Mtn. Conservation area, & Devil's Backbone Wilderness. So, opportunities for fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, & hunting abound. Also, you can visit the 5 grist mills of Ozark County, including Hodgson Mill, the most photographed mill in MO. Or, if you are just wanting a quiet getaway, you will enjoy lounging on the covered back porch while soaking in the panoramic views of the beautiful Ozark Hills & watching for the white tailed deer & other wildlife to meander by. The 90 acres of wooded property also allows additional options for exploration & solitude. The owners are nearby and readily available if needed.
What makes this property unique
It is the breath-taking beauty and panoramic views of the Ozark hills, with the soothing sounds of only nature, that really attracts us to our property. Here, the fresh air and crystal clear waters are unmatched. The stars and constellations are brilliantly stunning, as we are able to view them without the hinderance of city lights. The solitude, peace, and quiet are good for the soul.
