A Century home, built in 1864, is full of charm and warmth with several porches and decks overlooking the wooded property. Its original wood beam ceilings, finished wood floors, double wide hallways and a centrally located two-sided fireplace gives it solace and warmth. Private baths and high-speed wireless Internet give you all the comforts of home. The 3rd level porch is the most relaxing area to enjoy the fire-pit table while sipping on a glass of wine from the Ohio Valley Wineries in the area. The quiet and allure of this century home is great for reading, studying, enjoying friends and family or just kindling a romance. *Please note that there is a $50 per person per night if guests are added after booking and not included in original guest count.

Even better than expected

CJ is an incredible hostess and her home is breathtaking. This was exactly what we needed to relax as a family and visit with old friends while in the Cleveland area. The photos are beautiful, but it was even better in person!

Great house for family get together

It’s an old house built in 1846. It’s renovated and very spacious and well equipped with anything you may need and more!!! Host met us at 10pm arrival, gave us tour of house AND had stocked kitchen for breakfast so we did NOT. have to do late night run to the grocery store. We had plenty of space for our family to gather. One note is that all bedrooms are upstairs and stairs are very steep, but my dad who is 83 was able to navigate them. It was a comfy, warm place to stay!! Great front porch and back porch sitting!! Try it…you’ll LOVE it!!

A homey place

Pictures accurately represent the property. Great location for the area. CJ provided many extras to make us feel at home-muffins, snacks and drinks. The kitchen was well stocked. Communication was great before and throughout our stay.

Beautiful place to stay.

This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay! Cathy Jo was such a warm and gracious host. If you have any issues navigating stairs this may not be the place for you, otherwise I certainly recommend.

Great place to stay

Pictures on the website did not do justice to this home. The hospitality of the owner was tremendous, as was the peace and quiet of the experience. The back porch with fireplace was relaxing, and we felt comfortable visiting together. We would recommend this home to others.

Awesome hospitality

Owner was extremely generous and responsive. Beautiful home with everything you could want in the kitchen. Home was a short drive to Headlands Beach. A great place to look for rocks.

This place exceeded our expectations. All the amenities included a full fridge, very nice kitchen set up, and cozy beds. Would be a nice place to stay for a few days to take advantage of everything. Kathy was very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfection

Not only is this home comfortable and beautiful, but there is nothing that Cathy Jo has not thought of to ensure a wonderful stay. There were snacks and bottled water upstairs, and downstairs, as well as coffee, and tea etc. We truly wanted for nothing. Far too many lovely ammenities to mention. If we are ever back in Ohio, there is no question as to where we will be staying. This lovely home is a must stay. You will not be disappointed. If manyammenities to mention.

Perfection away from home!

This property is just as described and all reviews are accurate. Cathy Jo met had consistent and clear communication from the time of booking on. Her responses are quick and polite. When we arrived she gave us the tour of the home. It is very matriculate and beautifully decorated! Every thing that we may have forgotten was available! You will not be disappointed!

Great space for spending time away

Quick and friendly communication with the host. Answers quickly to messages. She greeted us when we got there and showed us around. Very welcoming and friendly. Spacious house with multiple porches for sitting outside to eat or relax. Close to some restaurants and other places to get things you need. Very close to the lake and not far from downtown Cleveland. Well stocked for cooking or whatever you need. Highly recommended.

Beautiful house with hospitable owner

This is a unique home, historic and updated with modern conveniences. It was clean and beautifully decorated. The king and queen bedrooms are upstairs, each with their own bathrooms. Our king bed was comfy. I especially enjoyed the adjacent large deck where it was fun to relax and watch squirrels and birds at tree level. The owner, Cathy Jo (CJ), is a caterer and the very definition of hospitality, being friendly, kind and generous. I can guarantee her kitchen is probably better equipped than anyone’s who is reading this! There are also many tables and places to sit. This makes it ideal for larger families and groups to gather. I understand parties can be held with permission of the owner. My husband and I enjoyed our stay!

We love this house!

Normally hotel goers, it took only a minute to get used to the idea that we were staying in someone’s beautiful home. Lighting set the mood for relaxation, and old-time charm was everywhere. The owner CJ was generous beyond belief, making herself available but never overly present. As a caterer, she had many accessories that we used to stage an after-wedding brunch, choosing from many glass platters, bowls and stemware. Comfortable seating aided conversations and there were enough tables (each with a lace tablecloth) in the front parlor. A carved chess game found a place (during our brunch) between two rockers on the front porch. And when the remaining ten guests talked about leaving, I sent them upstairs to discover “Heaven’s Landing.” The nature lovers came down from the covered deck over an hour later, with smiles and remarks about sitting among the treetops. CJ’s flowerpots and hanging baskets added another layer of delight. Our pictures on the steps of the wide front porch show us having classy fun. It was such a lazy, wonderful time staged successfully by the owner. “Thank you, CJ!” PS. This well-maintained, renovated, very old home sits in a nice neighborhood, on a larger lot than most. Google pictures show only trees, so it was real surprise to pull into the circular drive to see this freshly painted two-story gem. Parking for guests was under the trees (and off the road), and no one was ever parked in. Shopping areas are within a 5-minute drive.

Christmas wonderland

We wanted a house near my mom's who was hosting our annual family feast for Christmas Eve. I needed a kitchen to prepare my food, and this was THE dream kitchen. The home is even more gorgeous than the pictures. Cathy Jo was super attentive even on Christmas day! Other reviews are absolutely accurate.

Relax in Mentor

This was a charming, old house full of beautiful pieces of furniture and links to the past, yet it had all the modern conveniences. Our host C.J. was extremely kind and welcoming, even exchanging messages with us before we arrived. The kitchen is a chef's dream, as well as many beautiful sitting areas inside and outside. We especially enjoyed the fire table on the outside deck by our room. We hope to book another stay in the future so that we have more time to explore this beautiful area.

Sweet spot

Lovely stay visiting some old stopping grounds and foubd some new favorites too. Cathy Jo and friends were very open and regularly checked in to see if anything was needed. Accommodations were extensive, you really only need a suitcase of clothes and you're all set! Thank you for sharing your space. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
