About this property

Mid Century Modern in an 123 Year Old Victorian

You'll be staying in a private unit within a 123 year old Victorian style home. The downstairs of this home was turned into its own unit in the 1950's and I decided to keep the home as authentic to its time as possible. We are nestled in the quiet, charming town of Crockett, CA, known for the C&H Sugar company factory, the famous Dead Fish Restaurant, lots of hiking/bike trails, and fishing. We are in an ideal location - less than 30 miles to San Francisco, Napa, Berkeley, and Walnut Creek.

The space
One bedroom with a queen bed, living room with a full size sofa bed, bathroom and kitchen.

Guest access
You can also access the backyard as well as a charcoal grill.

Other things to note
Pets are allowed on a case by case basis. Please message me if you would like to bring your pet and we can try to work something out.

Cute but....
I have really struggled with this review because I hate leaving negative comments. This property definitely has potential, with just a little more effort taken. For the price it was acceptable but was mostly just an awkward stay. The kitchen is the best part of the unit, the bathroom the worst. The bathroom ceiling is only 6 feet tall, and my family is all over 5'8", so there was a lot of head bumps and ducking. There is also no lighting or outlet in the bathroom where the mirror is so getting ready in the morning for two women was a chore. The tub and floor need massive help, but the tile surround was lovely. Also the bathroom door does not shut all the way unless you slam it, and believe me, we tried really hard not to have to slam it. As for cleanliness, we found mouse poop on the top of the fridge, which is a short fridge so it was very apparent, the blanket on the pull out couch bed was dirty and stained and smelled a bit. The sheets were all clean and new though. Beds not comfortable, unfortunately. Towels were stained and bleach marked which could be because the owner leaves it up to the guest to start the load of laundry before they depart. There were adequate appliances in the kitchen and we particularly liked the Kurig but take your own pods if you are picky about coffee. Overall, just ok. Spruced up, it would be a fun little unit. If you just need a place to crash, definitely worth it!

Victorian Stay
Everything was as stated! The space was roomy and comfortable. Raina had excellent restaurant recommendations, list of important phone numbers. The communication was super easy. The location was great, easy to get onto Interstate or use surface roads to other towns. Close to hiking trails or walking along the Straits. We definitely enjoyed our stay. I

Cozy home for a small family
We came here with our family of 4. We enjoyed our experience in the cozy vintage unit, it was clean and well equiped with everything we needed to cook and plenty of clean towels, sheets and pillows to be comfy. We liked the location and our family had a great time.
