A Boho Chic Choice with Great Parking

A time travelers dream featuring true vintage furnishings and contemporary art decor. The tiki ensuite sleeps two with a tropical twist as the city view ensuite captures the energy of the mile-square. Mixing the best of decades in the bright and spacious living/Event room includes a full size MCM dining table, funky 80s seating and 60s hollywood glam velvet sofa. Bright galley kitchen and bar for snack and cocktail prep. Free parking is available in our controlled, lighted and video monitored lot. Free off-street parking is available as well.

Other things to note
Kitchen is nicely equipped with tools including bar ware. I continue to stock the kitchen with many necessary and a few not quite as necessary condiments, oils, spices, and other items.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
You may leave the last trashcan but not anything that doesn’t fit in it like take out containers or pizza boxes, etc. Piled up trash outside of the container is a no no.
Wash the dishes as per house rules. Get them to washed and rinsed level and I will take care of the rest.
Excess food, etc. will be routed to local “in need” folks.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Failure to provide ID as outlined in the rental agreement can/will result in a cancellation of booking for reason code “Conflict with House Rule”
$400 fee for indoor smoking/vape. False guest/ pet count will be assesed a $200 fee and per day per guest/pet fees will apply. See rental agreement.
Do dishes. Items that don’t fit inside the trashcan need to be ran to the dumpster in the parking lot.

We enjoyed our stay overall and found several things to really appreciate about this unit. The size was excellent, especially having 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and a full kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked, and toiletries were provided, which made the stay more convenient. The beds were comfortable, and the free street parking was easy and convenient. The location was also a plus since it was close to downtown. The host was personable, responsive, and readily available when needed.There were a few downsides worth noting for future guests. The surrounding area did not feel like a place we would want to walk around after dark. The main entrance to the apartment building was consistently unlocked, which raised some security concerns since anyone could enter the building. Because the unit is part of an apartment building, we did hear some noise from other tenants walking around, talking, and playing music. There was also significant road noise throughout both the day and night.Overall, the unit itself was spacious, comfortable, and conveniently located.

The host was very welcoming and communicated regularly with us. This was an apartment in an older building, so it had some maintenance-type items that could be improved. As you sift through a sea of listings decorated in that same "Wayfair" gray, black and white with a few muted attempts at splashes of color, my listing should stand out to you as unique and refreshing. The thoughful, curated choices along with "no fear of color" boldness can only add to this urban experience. The ease of parking and the private bath for each suite along with stepping right down the steps into the action should be your draw for choosing Decades.

What makes this property unique

My favorite bar is one block east along with Alabama Liquors package store for your convenience. Plenty of free off-street parking is available for your over-sized vehicle or your vehicle and trailer combination(rig)--the free parking in our controlled lot doesn't include rig or RV parking(possible with a fee but discuss first).
