Tucked into the hillside above Monteverde's cloud forest, Monkey Haven is a quiet, self-contained apartment with its own entrance, a small balcony overlooking the forest, and a setting that lets nature do most of the work.

This is a family-run property. We live next door (the apartment is attached to our main home), which means someone is always nearby — but the apartment has completely private access and its own rhythm. Guests often tell us the hardest part was leaving.

Comfortable, warm, and convenient place to stay in Monteverde

We stayed in this apartment (with separate entrance from the main house) for 4 nights. Comfortable bed, clean and well-equipped kitchen. Great views of the Bay of Nicoya. Quiet and secluded with star-filled nights over the back yard and the sounds of the cloud forest surrounding us. Friendly and helpful hosts. A great way to experience the beauty of Monteverde

Very beautiful house surrounded by the forest

Very clean and comfortable house surrounded by the forest. Kitchen is fully equipped. The dirt path towards the house needs work otherwise your car could get stuck. definitely need a 4 wheeler vehicle. We saw monkeys and toucans in the morning. Very calm and quiet stay it was. Beautiful place in the woods

My husband, 20 year old daughter, and I stayed here for 4 nights. We loved it! After 4 nights it was getting too small, but I could comfortably stay here with my husband forever. It’s clean, easy to cook and hang out after long days of exploring the area. There’s a great view. We saw lots of birds from the windows. It’s easy to walk around from the apartment. We didn’t have a car and walked everywhere, easily. I would recommend this place to a friend and I would stay here again.

Tranquility with convenience

We loved the seclusion of this getaway, yet it was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do in Monteverde. Check out the CASEM complex of shops and Curi Concha and Crandall reserves nearby. We felt safe and well cared for. Sweet family with loving (quiet) dogs.
