On the river

I love staying at this resort it’s a beautiful property and right on the main attraction crystal river! Easy boat rental and parking right on site and stunning views and wildlife all around! I look forward to weekends here and this resort has everything you need including a great pool and restaurants!

Great Time at Crystal River

My family had a wonderful time. Kid friendly location with beautiful scenery. We enjoyed the adventure center and the pool. Lots to do and explore on the water at this location! Great food at the resort restaurant as well. Will definitely go back to visit at this location.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Her service at the restaurant. Could’ve been a little bit better but overall, it’s a nice place. It’s definitely a place for the locals. Good to hang out at the bar and by the pool.

I loved this accommodation!

Reminded me of old Florida with nice updates! The pool was clean, the grounds were beautiful and the staff were so friendly and helpful. My 30 yr old daughter and I enjoyed both Adventurer tours very much. The Tiki Bar was awesome!!

Very nice people

This was an older hotel but charming. Florida struggles with mold and there was some standard old Florida smells but they kept it under control while still keeping the charm. The people were very nice.

Besties birthday trip

The property is BEAUTIFUL. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. You really wouldn't even have to leave the resort to have a fantastic vacation. Sunset boat tours are only $25 and so informative and beautiful. The pool is huge, and heated, but not so much that it's not refreshing, just enough to make it easy to jump right in. I will most definitely be back. Most fun stay I've ever had anywhere!!

Relaxing stay at a quaint location

Staying in Crystal River was a wonderful experience! The hotel and room were clean and comfortable. The building is definitely an older building, but was welcoming and comfortable. The grounds were perfect for a family trip with a pool, outdoor games, volleyball court, and other amenities. The hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, so we opted to try some of the local establishments. The location was perfect and our manatee swim guides (Manatees in Paradise - also highly recommend!!) picked us up from the boat dock on site! We hope to return one day and bring friends with us!

Good enjoyable stay, could use some improvements

We had a nice, enjoyable stay. Staff was polite and enjoyable. Food and beverages were good. Room seemed damp, as some clothes in closet were damp in the mornings, as were items left out on bathroom counter. Yes, we had a good bit of rain during our stay, but my guess is that there may be bigger lurking issues. Thank you.

Very old fantastic original hotel ….. just dated and needs to complexly Reno it. Are in the process of doing Reno’s as room has been 50% upgraded … fabulous location but restaurant no longer a premier dinning experience …. suspect a lot has to do with the Huricane in 2023

5 hr late checkin

We Couldn't check into our room till 9pm after a long day of travel there was blood on bed sheets and shower curtain. Nothing was done about it the 3 nights we stayed. Glad i brought a sleeping bag very disappointed

Dated but nice facility, housekeeping tossed our clothing

Nice location. Nice pool/hot tub area. This was clearly a destination in the past, but rooms and facilities have not been brought up to date. The main check in area, restaurant, and outdoor pool/tiki bar area are excellent. We would overall give this a higher rating, as we loved the area and pool, however, housekeeping took our large bag of dirty clothing which was on top of our luggage and tossed thinking it was trash. We therefore lost over half of our trip clothing. Completely frustrating as this was all on our personal belongings.

We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. The room was DIRTY. There were bugs in the room and the window was cracked and broken. There were stains on the walls, hair in the shower, spilled coffee stains and crap all over the floors. We will not be staying here in the future.

Beautiful property with filthy rooms.

The location is fabulous. The springs are gorgeous, the people are nice, sunset cruise was wonderful. Hot tub and pool were okay but crowded. Entertainment was good, drinks were great. The AC worked well. The curtains were stained, the lampshades rusted through their fabric, the desk chair was covered in mildew, the HVAC registers have mold and dust hanging out of them, there is mold on the ceiling above the shower, the toilet has mold behind it, the tile in the tub surround also has black mold, the coffee maker was filthy, the refrigerator was clean. The bed was comfortable, the closet was large. This was not worth the money charged. Reception couldn’t give me a copy of the bill because I booked it through an “a b an b thing”. Not going back - avoid.

Lawn care hours

Hi. We enjoyed our stay at the Plantation and will go back if the opportunity comes about. One suggestion however, please reschedule the time for lawn mowing and edging. I was awaken at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning by the lawnmower outside my window. Not great for a relaxing resort. When I kindly mentioned this to the young front desk girl, she just smiled and said, “Sorrreee”, with no intention of passing this on to Mgt. Nor did she say she would do so! There needs to be an adult at the front desk. Other than that, we loved the pool, tiki. At, the grounds, etc. Thanks!

Things You Should Know

We enjoyed our stay. It is a dated property as other reviews have stated but it was very clean & enjoyable. The air conditioner did not work welll at all and they must know about it because they had a device that we plugged up in the room to provide a cooler experience but it really didn't work well either. It was warm at night. I was quite upset because an extra $29.64 was added to my experience. They first said it was just in case of incidentals. But as I questioned further why they needed my credit card they then told me there was a $29.64 charge for resort fees per night. I would have been fine paying the extra IF i had known ahead of time. I did not feel it was professional to not state this extra fee in the description. It was a nice place to stay but I feel all should know about these issues.

The property reminded me of a resort from years gone by! The rooms and location are renovated and well maintained. The pool was cool and refreshing and the manatee boat ride was informative. Enjoyed my visit! Crystal River is beautiful .

Love/Hate Relationship

First let me say the location and grounds are lovely. The rooms however, not so much. The check in process was not friendly. Check in time is 4, and they mean 4! I went to check in twice between 3 and 4 and was told our room was not quite ready yet. Ok, I understand but it was ready at 4 exactly. Then we get to the room and it was not even clean!!!! Crumbs all over the floor, food left in the little fridge (hard boiled eggs and half eaten fruit!), smell was foul. The bathroom ceiling looks like they painted over mold. The mattresses had yellow stains on them. Sunday our room keys would not work had to go to desk to let us in room. The Plantation looks lovely from outside but the inside needs some improvements. However, Crystal River is a great place to visit. A lot for families to do.
