Close to the beach. Ample room for our family of 5. Very clean. Great location. Host was easy to contact and answered any questions I had during our stay.
This was one of the best vacation properties we've ever stayed at. It was super clean and had everything you might need for the beach (towels, toys, etc.). This was our first time staying in Cape San Blas and we LOVED it! We typically stay in Mexico Beach. We enjoyed the local restaurants (Cone Heads was my personal favorite), horseback riding, and a boat ride in the bay. We will most definitely be coming back. The weather was perfect and we had a great time!
Having stayed in a lot of houses on the cape this was by far our favorite. The house is absolutely gorgeous inside. The view of the gulf was better than some that are gulf front. The kitchen was nicely stocked, but organized and accessible. There was a closet with tons of really nice beach towels. The favorite part of the house was actually the kayaks. We bought life jackets at the store next to the Piggly Wiggly, and the whole family loved taking turns ocean kayaking. The access to the beach was a lot easier than other neighborhoods we stayed in. The owners were way more responsive and available than the houses with management companies. It will definitely be our first choice in the future for trips.
We created so many memories and that is what vacation is all about. This property's overall appearance and location is amazing! This was my families first time to Cape San Blas and all I can say is relaxation. If you are the type of family that has to have something to do, this is not the place for you. There are very limited places to eat as well. That was disappointing to my family whom loves seafood. We ended up having to go to Rosemary beach for good food and shopping. Anyway, that has nothing to do with this home. I cannot say enough great things about the home.
Thank you Chad & Karen for sharing your home!
Uncrowded beaches and Plenty of Furnishings in this House
We loved the location and the amenities this property has to offer. The subdivision has a large undeveloped area next door so there were very few people on the beach in this section. It was an easy, 3 minute walk down a neighborhood boardwalk to the beach. Neighbors were quiet but there was some construction in the area. We could hear it but weren’t disturbed by it. The layout of the house was great for us. The bedrooms were all on the second floor and the third floor was completely open with the kitchen, dining, living room area, and half bath. The community pool was easy to access and convenient - right across the street. The house was well furnished with plenty of beach equipment and cooking supplies. Already plan to book again next year!
We enjoyed everything about the property that we stayed in! It was very clean when we got there and it had everything that you could possibly need while on vacation. My family and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in that area!
The property itself was awesome. Because of the popularity of the area there was construction noise
This property and owner were superb. The construction in the area and on the beach (dune repair) was not something that I was prepared for and was not fault of the provider. It just is/was! I should have done more research. Don't know if I would have changed my reservation, but I would not have been surprised.

About the host
Hosted by Chad VonHoven
My wife and I own a mortgage company in Atlanta servicing GA, FL and SC. We have been vacationing at the Cape for years but never could find enough free time to justify buying a second home. But now our youngest child is entering his senior year in high school. With only a year until he heads off to college we are now planning the next chapter in our lives. A year from now we plan to be part time Florida residents.
Why they chose this property
This is our second home more so than a vacation rental. We loved the open floor plan and beautiful gulf views from numerous decks on the home. Unlike many of the homes on the Cape, The Fin & Tonic was built in a neighborhood with restrictive covenants, a neighborhood pool and 2 private boardwalks.
