About this property
Cozy Cabin #5 formally Birch Point Resort. Individually owned cabins.
Adorable cozy little condo cabin at Birch Point Condo Association on Nelson Lake, Hayward, Wisconsin! The cabin offers a newly remodeled screened in porch as well as updated flooring in the kitchen, living room, and bedroom areas with a functional open floor plan to host your lake get away! New bathroom remodel in 2024. The cabin is 600 square feet but has everything you need for your stay. The new porch can now be utilized year-round and is surrounded by windows to view the lake and wildlife as you sip your morning coffee! The cabin sits just off of Sunset Bay on Nelson Lake and is only 8 minutes from Hayward, Wisconsin.
In addition to the typical kitchen amenities, we provide a beverage fridge, charcoal & gas grill, and a coffee station (with many brewing methods to choose from so bring your coffee). Within walking distance are two bars with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options as well as many other great restaurant options in and around Hayward, Seely, and Cable all within a 10-15 minute drive. Take a ride on your boat as Nelson Lake also has many local bar options for food and drink.
Our 2 bedroom cabin sleeps up to 6 people with one queen and one double with a twin bunk, and a futon in the living room area. Bedding, towels (1 per guest), starter supply of kitchen/bathroom paper products, and basic storage is available in both rooms. WiFi is also available to connect a computer or phones as well as a Fire TV Stick streaming device to link your Netflix or other accounts to watch movies just in case it’s a raining day! Birch Point Resort provides guests with a laundry facility within walking distance of the cabin as well as a volleyball net and a playground equipment.
Winter activities to enjoy on and around Nelson Lake include snowmobiling (just off the trail), snowshoeing and skiing (just minutes from the Birkie Trail), ice fishing, and sledding.
Birkie Trail information: 73+ km trails groomed for skate, 100+ km trails groomed for classic, 5.0 km lighted for night skiing. The trails are suitable for intermediates. Multiple trailheads so you may ski shorter segments, along with several loop routes. Snowshoe Trails: with separate trail system. The trailhead in Cable is 17 miles from Birch Point, however many trailheads are available south of Cable off of Highway 63 towards Hayward. Retail sporting goods & equipment rentals available on the North side of Hayward.
North End Trail Information: Just South of Cable is a wonderful trail system through a gorgeous Northwoods setting. The trails wander over small hills and glacial ridges through a scenic forest of mixed hardwoods: birch, oak, and maple trees; and numerous stands of conifers: red and white pines, spruce, and balsam fir. There are two trails for cross-country skiing. The North End Trail is 13.1 km long with two shorter cutoff loops and is groomed for classic and skate. The North End Classic Trail is 13.5 km long and groomed for classic only with numerous cutoff options. Both trails intersect repeatedly with each other and the Birkie Trail and Telemark Trails to create a massive trail system. Due to the hilly terrain, both North End trails are suitable for those of at least intermediate skills. There are 12.7 km of snowshoe trails, including the Ojibwe Trail. The North End Trailhead is 16 miles from Birch Point.
Summer recreation is limitless with boating (utilize our personal dock), kayaking, canoeing, jet skiing, swimming at the Birch Point private beach, and of course fishing! Boats can be rented at Revelle’s Resort just down the road on Birch Point road. Both Hayward and Cable host many summertime activities and attractions just minutes away!

- Hayward Lumberjack show (7 miles)
- LCO Casino (11 miles)
- ATV trails (100’s of miles of off-road trails with local rentals available)
