Remodeled Family Size Beach Retreat, Closest Cottage to Lake Michigan as far as the Eye Can See!!!

Completely remodeled in 2018, this house carries the charm of its 100 year history, is equipped with most modern comforts and conveniences, and is ready to build family memories. The location couldn't be more perfect, or rare! This is THE closest house to the water as far as you can see North or South from the deck!

There are no scalding dunes to cross, or never ending stairs to climb, just amazing endless shoreline and panoramic views from almost every room! The Lake Michigan sunset doesn't get better or CLOSER than this! Enjoy expansive enclosed decks, great for children and well-behaved dogs. Brand new seawall (2021) encloses a private raised beach area just a few steps off of the lower deck.

Your nesting space has sleeping arrangements for 10 people. Accommodations include:
- Lower master bedroom with King size bed and en-suite bathroom with bathtub, shower and two sinks overlooking the Lake
- Upper bedroom with Full size bed and closet/dresser
- Lower bedroom with Queen bed and a twin bunk bed (child-safe with railings)
- Lower bedroom with two twin beds
- Lower sleeper sofa with 60-inch wide by 65-inch long mattress

Three full bathrooms:
- One in the master suite (tub)
- One other on the lower level (tub) + washer/dryer
- One on the upper level (shower)

The home has two living room areas, one upper and one lower:
The upper living area features access to the expansive deck off of the kitchen, TV, wet bar, gas fireplace, beautiful fully equipped kitchen, bedroom and full bathroom. The lower level features a living room with sleeper sofa, TV, access to enclosed deck, full bathroom, twin bedroom, bunk plus queen room and Master with adjoining full bathroom, both with amazing water views!

Your nest is also equipped with a vacuum, high chair, rocking chair, fireplace grate, folding table and chairs for 6, beach chairs, toys, beach towels, games, 2 outdoor picnic tables to accommodate 12 total, umbrellas, outdoor grill, and 8 Adirondack chairs. The upper level deck has dining tables and seating for 10.

Parking is located at street level with newly decked, enchanting wooded staircases and pathway to follow down to your nesting place at the waters edge! Start building your lake shore memories today, and come back to nest often!

Our vacation included myself, my children, and my grandchildren. We loved spending time together and especially loved the easy access to the beautiful beach. The deck area was our favorite spot to watch the sunsets. The house fit our needs so we could spend our time together. The wifi had a weak signal, but otherwise, we were able to do everything on our wishlist.

Lovely Beachfront Getaway

Perfect getaway in celebration of my parent’s 50th anniversary. Lovely home with immediate beach access and a short drive to all of the sites of Douglas and Saugatuck. Clean, comfortable and spacious with numerous areas to lounge and relax, both indoors and out. Would definitely return!

Never have lived so close to the Lake. Everyday was incredible, walks on the beach, hikes through the woods, great food from Farmhouse and the beauty of the waves. Perfect family getaway. The cottage was exactly the right size, spotless, well insulated with everything we needed.

Great winter getaway

We had a great winter trip with our adult kids. The location is perfect- fun to walk on the beach and see the weather ice volcanoes on the lake. The rooms other than the master are a bit small but great for adult kids. Very clean and comfortable. Lots of outdoor deck space we didn’t use because it was cold, but beautiful.

We loved the location - it was absolutely perfect!

We were looking for a lake front cabin close to restaurants and the Tulip Festival activities. We were able to bring our puppies as well as our adult children for much needed reset time. Location is awesome. Really neat house right on the water. House is well stocked with all essentials to make it a great stay. Parking was a little awkward . You park on the street then climb down several flights of stairs and a wooden walkway thru woods to get to house.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home on the lake. The hosts were quick to answer a question we had about the property mid-stay. The master suite was especially lovely with a wonderful view of the lake. We spent every evening on the patio enjoying wonderful sunsets. My only caution would be to those who have mobility issues (either family members or pets) as there were a few steps to and from the property to the street. Overall, we had an absolutely lovely, peaceful stay here!

Amazing waterfront retreat

Like many reviewers, the photos of the Lake don’t do this house justice. There are amazing views from the main living area (sitting room and kitchen) and primary bedroom. In addition, you are so close from some views that it feels like you’re hovering just above the water. If you want to be on the water, this is the place.

Great spot on Lake Michigan

A phenomenal spot, a stunning view from the house, and extremely functional spot to call home for few days. Great amenities. Nice sized living space to spread out, deck space for all guests, and kitchen facilities for cooking. We celebrated our anniversary over a long weekend and it was the perfect place for our family. This made for nice beach time, accommodating spots to hang out and talk, and mealtime was easy with the open kitchen. Thank you for providing the backdrop for our time to remember!

A Piece of Michigan Magic!

The views were stunning at this home on the beach. Property was as described and is one of a kind. We had no issues at all. There were plenty of blankets and towels. The kitchen was well stocked and had all that we needed. Home is conveniently located to the nearby entertainment. The sunset views on the deck is a great space for creating memories. Would absolutely recommend this as a top place to stay.

Parking was an issue. Neighbors were a bit touchy about parking. A bit warm in lower level. Otherwise weather was great. Overall great stay. There was a broken grey chair. Also upstairs shower had a crack on floor.

Why they chose this property

After managing the remodel and rental of this property since 2017, I was given the opportunity to purchase the home as my personal year-round getaway, and would love to share it with you!

What makes this property unique

As you stand on the lower deck overlooking lake Michigan, there won't be a home closer to the water as far as the eye can see. As the beach has eroded in the last few years, we built a seawall to maintain the integrity of our once-in-a-lifetime views.
