The house itself was good, and as advertised. It was spacious and we appreciated the garage and yard. If new/smart appliances are important to you, this house does not have them (the appliances work fine, just look older). The bedrooms have windows that extend up above the blinds - for us, this was hard because we really like to darken the room to be able to sleep longer in the morning. In the summer, there was sun streaming through the top part of the window as we tried to put the kids to bed, and then it got very bright in the morning before we wanted to wake up as well. The main concern I had was communication with the owner. When we arrived, the code did not work, because we had been provided outdated check-in information. I tried calling, texting, and messaging on the website but with no answer after 40 minutes and two overtired kids, we had to go get a hotel. The owner did then respond after an hour, which I realize is not a long delay, just too long for us when we were sitting out on the porch unable to enter. Even after that, communication was sporadic between a landline and one cell line that was not really responsive to texts. The owner did of their own initiative refund us the night we were unable to enter, so they made it right. They also went above and beyond when I messaged before the stay asking if they had a certain item in the home, they responded that it wasn't normally there but they could bring some, and had it waiting for us when we arrived, which was definitely the extra mile. So, it's a good house and our stay ended up being fine; if quick-response communication with the owner is important to you, though, this would not be one for you.
