Very impressive property. First class amenities all around. Great second area in heated playroom/garage and upstairs apartment. Great kitchen for big family meals and hot tub was great.
The property was excellent for us 7 and the 2 dogs. WE had a great week. Very close to all the hiking trails. The dogs loved hanging out in the fence area while we watched the sunsets.
We had a fabulous stay!! The home is so clean and exactly as described. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need for cooking. The hot tub was wonderful and has lavender planted right beside of it for extra relaxation. The views from this home are spectacular!! The entire home is filled with special touches. The garage (we called it the club house) is fabulous! The children loved hanging out and playing pool, lounging and playing fusball. It was a great escape for them. We will definitely book this home again in the future.
We truly enjoyed our stay! They had pretty much everything we needed for our annual Thanksgiving vacation. The kids & adults both enjoyed the family game room in the garage. Other than a slight issue with trying to work the downstairs washer (we just all used the one upstairs) it was the perfect vacation. Great location!! Easy access to some of our favorite spots in Beech mtn & Bannker Elk. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay & we’re already discussing booking for next year.

The property was nice, but the management company was terrible.
Stayed with my extended family, ages 12-60, and 3 dogs. We all loved it. The house was very clean and comfortable, and had great views. It was so nice that the property was fenced and dogs could roam. The weather was fantastic with temps ranging from upper 50s to mid-80s in late July. Meanwhile temps at home in Arlington VA were hitting 100. It was a great escape!
The house is beautiful! We had a great stay and would stay again, but probably not in winter. The driveway is very steep and when we were there it was covered in thick ice as were the porch and steps leading into the house. We had 4 wheel drive and still had difficulty driving up. I also slipped and fell more than once on the ice, The heat in the downstairs bedroom was not working, someone came to check it and left us space heaters which did keep it warm.
The property was spacious and had many amenities. The only drawbacks (minor repairs/inadequate linen supply) can easily be corrected by the management company who have been notified separately. The management company is challenging in that the response time is slow (also notified in their separate survey), but overall it was a wonderful stay for a family of 6 adults and 4 small children.
Great house and space for our party of 9. Kids stayed in the studio above the garage and the adults had the main house. Close to the slopes and lots of cool outdoor space…we saw deer every day. Garage game room with pool table was a hit. Definitely need 4x4 if it’s snowing. Property manager would respond within minutes to answer our questions, very impressed. Would no doubt stay again, 5 BIG Stars!
Just wrapped up a great stay at Snow Dog Lodge in Beech Mountain. The house is spacious, modern, and full of thoughtful details that made our trip really comfortable. With six sleeping areas and plenty of room to spread out, it was a great setup for a group getaway. The updated kitchen and big farmhouse table made mealtime easy, and the sunset views from the patio and especially the hot tub were a highlight. The game room and separate studio apartment were big bonuses. Whether we were hanging out by the fire, watching movies, or just taking in the views, there was always a good spot to relax. We also appreciated how dog friendly the place is the fenced yard was a nice touch.Location wise, it’s super convenient just a mile from the ski resort and close to restaurants. If you're looking for a comfortable, well-equipped place near Beech Mountain that works well for families, groups, and pets, Snow Dog Lodge is a solid choice. Would definitely stay again. Please note that there is construction happening at the lot next door to the house which starts rather early in the morning and does get quite loud at times. While I know this is something the owners have no control over, it did put a bit of a damper on our peaceful relaxing vacation and I wanted to mention it for future travelers. Aside from this minor issue our stay was wonderful and we will definitly be back!

Great location, beautiful porch and fenced in yard
The location was beautiful, the porch views were stunning. We loved the fully secured fenced in yard for our dogs. Check in was easy and management responded quickly to concerns. Be aware this cabin does not have central AC, this was not disclosed in the listing. Though the evenings were cooler, the day time was warm and the cabin was hot and stuffy at times. I have never stayed at a cabin with no central ac. The windows did open but if it’s warm outside, it doesn’t help much. It definitely should be listed that their is no AC, I would not have stayed here if I knew. The cabin could have been cleaner as well, particularly the bathroom and kitchen. We also noticed an odor in the home, we understand it is pet friendly but shouldn’t smell like pee. There are several rugs in the home and I suspect them to be the culprit. There were noticeable stains. The smell was worse when the cabin was hot. The mattresses need major updating, all of them were sunken in badly in the middle. We lost water pressure one morning and did not have water for a few hours, I believe it was a main line. Management responded quickly and helped the best they could. Overall we enjoyed our stay, there are some things that needed fixing and definitely a mention about the lack of AC. The location is nice, very close to OZ and ski resort. Overall a nice property, just need to be more descriptive in the listing and deep clean the rugs or remove them.
We had a group of 12 gather for a family vacation. We ranged in age from 9 to 66. Everyone raved about the house. Drop dead gorgeous sunset views every afternoon.......plenty of games and outside exploring for the grandkids......very well stocked kitchen......great hiking trails just a couple of miles away..........plenty of room for our dogs to roam. I highly recommend Snow Dog Lodge!!
Our family has been traveling to Beech Mountain for a family trip for the last 16-18 years. We have stayed in multiple houses and this house was one of our favorites.
Snow dog lodge is a great house for accommodating a large group. The hosts are very generous with allowing access to many things. For example the kitchen had pretty much anything you needed dish or appliance wise. They had extra blankets and pillows and two washers and dryers! The cleaning service the rental company hired did not do a good job of vacuuming and dusting, but the bathrooms and linens were clean. We did make the company aware of this before we left so hopefully better for the next group.
Snow Dog Lodge was a beautiful place for a family get together. The house was lovely, rustic and roomy. The kitchen was great for our Thanksgiving dinner., well-equipped and roomy enough for all 14 of us to sit together. It was late fall and the area around the fire pit outside was not well maintained but we spent most of our time by the fireplace inside and in the rec room which the younger adults and children enjoyed..
