Property accepts 2 small pets. After i booked the host called to let me know the fence is not totally secured. You could tell it has been broken for some time. We never had an issue with our dogs because we always stay with them. Also the big oven did not work but there is a toaster oven. Host was very quick to respond to questions. House was clean and comfortable.
We felt very comfortable staying here and it was perfectly located close to town! We loved all the extras available… books, games and more! The outdoor seating was great with the beautiful weather we were able to sit outside and enjoy the cool evening air! We would stay again when in town ❤️
this property was a decent property, and filled our needs, i was in town for work and brought my family with, the parking on the street was a little bit of a nightmare as there was a fair amount of snow while we were there and the street is on a pretty good hill so it was slick carrying our luggage and supplies back and forth, but the owners were very responsive and attentive
Dont worry about the swamp cooler. It will work! You will cover up at night or even turn it off! The host is very nice and helpful ! We will stay again someday!

Weekend in Trinidad
This home is in a good location and has a nice, somewhat fenced yard. The floors are all hard surface, which is great. Check in and out was easy. The problem we had with this home was that it was very dirty. I kept my shoes on for the entire weekend. Only one window had a screen, so we could not let fresh air in to counter the strong air fresheners or cool down the house. We pick vrbo homes because we like to cook our own meals, but the oven was broken. I noticed that a guest commented on this a year and a half ago and it was still not fixed. This home has inspired us to go to a hotel next year.
House is Dirty and Unsafe. Host is Dishonest. No A/C Available
Overall takeaway from 2 night stay:Property Host was verbally aggressive toward us, made false accusations against us, and stated she watched us with cameras.House was dirty and grimy when we arrived. Kitchen table was wobbly and not safe to use. The Property write up advertises an A/C; it had an old swamp cooler with mold and dust inside instead.Harassment, accusations and insults we endured from the Property host:Host verbally accused us of STEALING a coffee maker. We don’t drink coffee or tea!Host accused us of NOT taking out the trash after we had already disposed of the trash in the outside receptacle upon leaving. We were baffled by how she could lie to us and tell us we did not do something that we 100% surely did. Host accused my two well behaved ‘7 lb’ dogs of peeing on 'everything' in her house and 'everything' in her yard, including 'every' piece of furniture.House:Could not adjust house to a comfortable temperature.Kitchen cabinets were dirty and sticky with accumulated grime, especially around the hardware pulls.Dishes in the cabinets were sticky. The Refrigerator was dinged with pock marks and was not emptied of some of the previous tenants food. The Floor lamp had one light hanging out of the socket and popped on and off.Shower door tracks had a thick growth of black mold. Shower doors were coated with soap scum. We could only find one wash cloth.Cabinet door below bathroom sink was missing hardware. Available toiletries were weirdly random.

Do not rent to Mary Ann T...this lady is crazy and thinks it is OK for her dogs to pee in the house...and she did not want to pay the pet fee...She is a bad lady...Do not rent to her..
We were unable to stay. Sickness caused me to cancel, then a quick recovery meant that we could keep the reservation, but the site had already been rebooked. We regret very much that we were unable to stay and are sad to have lost many $$.

Not what it appears
It was one disappointment after another. The host texted several times before we checked in but waited until we said we were there to tell us the swamp cooler isn’t on until June 1st. It was in the 80s and immediately stuffy inside. Good thing we knew how to work a swamp cooler or we would not have been staying there. The host was understanding when we said we needed it.
There were a lot of bugs dead and alive, outside and inside. Could be because the host suggested opening windows instead of using swamp cooler but the screens are full of holes or non existent.
There’s also a basement under this house, with a door saying employees only. I’m surprised this wasn’t mentioned in the listing or in the reviews. There’s no outside access but there are boards in some broken windows. It was just sketchy since it wasn’t disclosed.
Finally, we got groceries from the Safeway conveniently located down the street, but the oven did not work. Luckily there’s a few pizza places open late that deliver here.
Would rather spend the money on a hotel than stay here again.
Owner watches you. We left our well-behaved dog for an hour and Phyllis texted that we couldn’t leave our dog alone (which wasn’t in the rules). We were at this house for my birthday so couldn’t go out. Then Phyllis texted as we left that we forgot to put cushions back. Nice house but no TVs in the bedrooms. Didn’t enjoy the surprise rules and texts. Won’t stay here again.
I have stayed at several vrbos in trinidad and this is the best we have found for the money. Very nice accommodations, better than pictured. Plenty of stocked items, blankets, games, shampoos, conditions, coffees, ect.
We enjoyed a 2 night stay at Phyllis' house to explore Trinidad and the Highway of Legends. It was a really cute place and met all of our needs. Loved the outdoor patio and propane fire pit. Our dog enjoyed the fenced yard and roaming around. Secure parking behind the house, off street. Swamp cooler worked very well in the living room to help cool the house down in the late afternoon/evening. Good water pressure and water heated up quickly.
Trinidad itself is like stepping back in time to maybe where you grew up in a small town. This home was very comfortable, and for us, channeled memories of our childhood homes, but with some modern upgrades. Be aware that the neighborhood has a variety of homes that are well maintained like this one, and ones that are not. Owner very responsive with questions. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at Phyllis ' place. My dogs loved it and wanted to stay. The house was clean and there is everything you need including coffee. It was very welcoming.
The lot size was good to allow my dogs to explore and not feel couped up. Pizza can be delivered there which the BOMB.
We would stay again, you will not be let down.
Just a side note: if you are looking for a broom check the closet where the cushions are. I looked for a few days and did not find it until the last day when I was putting the cushions back.
Cute place and really close to town but far enough away. We walked our dogs to town a couple of times while we stayed there and enjoyed the property and the very nice folks in Trinidad.
This was a great property. Very clean and comfortable. Close proximity to downtown and lake trinidad. Host very responsive. Nice views as well. Would stay here again

I enjoyed Jeane's beautiful personality and her and her sister were great guests...I would welcome them both back anytime...
Nice house and a nice neighborhood. Everything you can possibly need is within one mile of the house. Trinidad is a great little town full of good people and good food.
Our stay was very satisfying as we had all the amenities we needed to have a peaceful, relaxing stay. Each room was clean, simple, and decorated tastefully. We had access to a private outdoor seating which had tasteful lights around the patio as well as heating. The kitchen was furnished with every tool you would need to make at home meals and a pleasant dishwasher as well. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Extremely clean and a great location. just about 4 mins away from safeway. Very quiet neighborhood which was very nice as well.
