All the outdoor spaces are shared with the owners. The parking area is shared, and we must pass by the hot tub and guesthouse to access our own house. So, you may see us coming and going frequently during your stay.

Little slice of Helens heaven
The cabin was so adorable and perfect for my boyfriend and I. We had such an incredible stay. It was so clean and peaceful, the rooms and bathroom were so clean. The fridge and prep space were more than enough for him and I to cook. We would heavily consider returning!

Perfect perfect perfect
This stay was beautiful! The property is already set up for a wonderful family stay and we are excited to see what they add on in the future. We would love to stay in a future pet friendly cabin here with our pup Tucker and see that it is in their future plans. A perfect spot to relax after hiking through the Ape Caves or doing one of the many beautiful hikes around Mt St Helens. Our group of 6 were very comfortable in the Bear Cabin😁

A comfortable, well equipped bungalow
We were there for 3 nights. The hosts had thought of everything from spices to hot chocolate. Plenty of fluffy towels, comfortable beds and nice sheets. The hot tub was just right.

A Little Bit About Us

Johannes: I go by Johan, short for Johannes. I’m originally from the Free State in South Africa, and grew up in the country on a farm. I met my wife Tanya while traveling in the States. I play a little guitar, am bilingual in Afrikaans and love riding horses, fishing, hunting and hiking as well as spending time with my family.

Tanya: I’m originally from Eugene, Oregon and grew up in the suburbs. I play the cello, a little piano, am bilingual in Spanish, love to travel and enjoy getting outside with my family. I’ve always lived in the city till I met Johan. Now I love living in the country and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why they chose this property

Welverdien [vel-fur-deen] means well-deserved in Afrikaans. A vacation should feel well-earned and deserved, especially with our busy and hectic lives these days, and we hope that’s how you will feel as well. We love living in the country and feel blessed to have found our own little slice of heaven. We are a family of four with two middle school kiddos, Hannes & Stella who love the outdoors and life in the Pacific Northwest.

What makes this property unique

Our property is just under 13-acres but feels much bigger because we back up to thousands of acres of State DNR Land. This offers a unique location for our family and guests to be right in the heart of so many outdoor recreational choices throughout the year. It's a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and away from the crowds. You can rest, relax and hibernate or use the space as a jumping off point for your outdoor explorations. We also have a lovely gazebo up the hill available to guests that offers a beautiful southwest view of the mountains and hills.
