The property had a great location to palo duro canyon with great amenities and very easy access support from the support staff with any issues who was very responsive and helpful. Very clean and great place for families with kids
This place is very cute and in a beautiful location. The property manager was very responsive and we got to enjoy lots of deer visitors. Close to Canyon, close to Palo Duro Canyon. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Great view of the Canyon. We enjoyed hiking around the canyon and property. The kitchen / living room are well laid out and was great at night while cooking dinner. The wood burning fireplace was awesome.
Blown away with the house. It’s stunning views and wildlife were a definite bonus. Close to Palo Duro and shopping. We had a fabulous time and hope to stay here again!
Peace Tranquility Beautiful Relaxing All and more we could ever dream or imagine. Comfort inside and out Breathtaking view of canyon landscape and wildlife
Close to Heaven

Except for the following, everything else was absolutely perfect and better than described in the write up and photos. Need more towels and rags in kitchen and bathrooms. Pitch expired foods from refrigerator and cabinets.
What we loved:
- house was really clean, looks just like in the pictures
- beautiful view of the sunrise and canyon
- fantastic deck with seating area
- pretty well equipped
- bedding was great
What could have been better:
- deck was very dirty. We would have expected that they clean it (including the decking and benches) prior to our arrival.
- no dishwashing pods/soap.
- no kettle or nothing to warm up water for tea other than a pot.
- there’s tons of food in the pantry that has expired since 2018
- master bathroom drawers have used stuff including shaved hair in them. All others were very clean.
We recommend this place
Our party of five was very comfortable here. We especially enjoyed the back porch of the house. The canyon behind the house is amazing and wildlife abounds. We saw deer, rabbits and lots of birds and heard coyotes in the distance. The beds were very comfortable, and we had plenty of space to spread out.
The house is about 20 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon which was the reason for our visit.
We’ve stayed at lots of VRBOs around the world and this was the first time we stayed at one where the owner’s presence was everywhere. There were family photos which was sweet to see. There were personal belongings throughout the house, closets, drawers, etc. The frig and pantry had lots of food items in them, and the freezer was full. All of this caught us off guard (never seen that at a VRBO) but was not a big deal. It was like the family had just left. We separated their things from ours and still had room for our stuff. I’m only mentioning as a heads up to other guests since we were caught off guard.
We would recommend this beautiful home to others visiting the area.
This home is beautiful with lots of room for a family. The large back porch is perfect for relaxing and watching the local wildlife. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with everything we needed during our stay.
Palo Duro SP and Amarillo are within 20 minutes and we even drove to Caprock Canyon SP one day, which was about 1 1/2 hrs.
Check in/check out was very easy and the property manager was helpful when our gps initially took us to the wrong neighborhood.
We would definitely stay at this home again.
3 friends and I stayed at this newer great home while waterfowl hunting in the area. Big and comfortable living area for relaxing after the hunts. Big TV inside and outside on the back porch with a fireplace. The furnished back patio over looks a beautiful canyon where we saw lots of wildlife.
Comfortable beds for our 4 pretty big guys with extra beds to spare.
Great communication. Great kitchen. Loved the big ice maker at the bar. Plenty of parking.
Lovely and comfortable accommodations. Loved the back porch where we spent most of our time with a fire in the evening. Description of property does indicate that there is a full-time inhabitant in the duplex and the back porch is shared, but we missed that detail. You can hear them from the back porch, but we never saw anyone. Would recommend but be aware it is a duplex.
It was awesome! Super clean! Fantastic! The was a smoke alarm/carbon dioxide alarm that kept beeping like it was dead the last night we were there, but other than that it was great! Would absolutely stay again!
On our trip to Palo Duro Canyon Park, we decided to stay here and I'm glad we did. The location relative to the park and Amarillo was very convenient (about a 20 minute drive). The house itself was very clean, appliances are high end, and the kitchen is well stocked so cooking meals was not a hassle. As mentioned in other reviews, there are personal items throughout the house (family pictures, clothes, food, etc), but I didn't mind and it didn't diminish the experience. Deer visited the feeder and water supply daily, so the kids got to see them up close while on the back patio. Other than slow Wi-Fi speeds (cellular service was faster), I couldn't have asked for more and would not hesitate to stay here again.
We had great communication with the owner and loved our experience staying here! It is an immaculately kept property with incredible views. We would love to stay here again!
This is a wonderful property and was exactly as described. Julie is a responsive owner and was very easy to work with.
One word of caution, though, to Google map users.....don't trust Google maps! If approaching from the south, as we were, Google maps says you can drive north up S. Osage. You will almost arrive at the property (you can actually see it) but will hit a locked gate, causing you to backtrack and circle around, taking about 20 minutes.
Everything at the property was perfect. It was clean, well apportioned and quiet. A truly beautiful home.
This is an amazing property on 44 acres on the rim of one of the Palo Dura Canyon fingers. The entrance to the State Park is about 25 minutes away, but the house sits on top of the rim of a privately owned finger of the canyon.
The house is great! It is a large ranch house with a large deck overlooking the canyon finger. The house is well decorated and has a large great room/kitchen area.
The owner's father lives in a second wing of the house. Danny was a nice guy, and was very helpful when we asked. Danny will leave you alone, unless you need information or recommendations for places to eat. We all enjoyed talking with him.
The kitchen is stocked with all the pots and pans you need to cook at the house. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces had plenty of firewood. House has washer/dryer, dishwasher, and a nice big refrigerator.
We learned that the owners are new to VRBO, so they haven't prepared all the usual information binders. We had 4 adults over 60 in our group, and we are all too technically challenged to figure out how to use three remotes for one TV. Some laminated TV instruction pages might have been helpful, as well as the usual loose leaf binder explaining about the well, septic tank, trash, washing machine, ice machine, feeding the deer, local Bar Z winery, places to eat, plus any policies (like pull or don't pull sheets before you go).
The owner or property manager didn't give us the exact location until days before we arrived. This made us nervous, as this is very unusual in our experience. We like to do a Google map view of the house and area before we make a reservation, but we took a chance anyway.
Bottom line, this is a great house on an amazing piece of property. We highly recommend that you rent this place if you ever go to Palo Dura Canyon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! So peaceful on the deck enjoying the view, watching the TV in the evening on the deck. Watching the deer feed in the mornings, the sunrise was beautiful!! Hope to come back - sad to leave. Thanks!!
What a beautiful home and the most unbelievable back yard! The view is breathtaking each morning and we enjoyed hiking in the evenings. Thank you for sharing your home!
Loved staying at this beautiful home over Memorial Day weekend. The fully-stocked house had everything we might have needed (and then some), communication with the host was a breeze, the backyard was positively stunning, and we were only 30 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon. 5 stars definitely earned!
