The Domaine de l’Ermitage is one of those places that leaves you speechless the moment you arrive. A little slice of paradise where time seems to slow down, marked by a rustic and bucolic atmosphere, self-contained and self-sufficient. Far from the hustle and bustle of the Atlantic coast, nestled between the Bidouze River, the hills, and a former equestrian centre, this restored estate (formerly stables) spanning approximately 500 square metres is the ideal place to recharge.

Tranquility reigns here; the landscapes are lush and gentle, promising a truly refreshing getaway.

The space has been thoughtfully designed with meticulous, personalised decor that perfectly complements the old stone walls and exposed beams. Whether unique, collectible, or vintage finds, each element finds its place in a harmonious whole.

THE ROOMS

With their 180 cm beds (which can be arranged side-by-side or separately), thick and inviting mattresses and mattress toppers, the estate’s seven spacious rooms are private and designed for rest and relaxation in the utmost comfort.

Two of them feature a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate shower and toilet; two others feature a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet, another has a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate toilet, and the remaining two rooms share a bathroom with a bathtub, shower, and a separate toilet.

COMMON AREAS

To ensure your holiday is all about sharing and making memories, a large, fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal, sure to delight everyone’s taste buds and inspire the inner chef in others. From the magnificent range to the beer dispenser and coffee machine, everything is provided so you’ll want for nothing.

A massive wooden table completes this space, turning it into a communal living area that brings everyone together.

And since the kitchen isn’t confined to the indoors, an adjoining terrace features a bar area, a large barbecue/fire pit where everyone can gather, and an outdoor kitchen.

For comfortable gatherings, a spacious, cosy, and bright living area (living room/dining room/kitchen) of approximately 100 m² overlooks the surrounding hills. The massive central fireplace is the centrepiece of your cosy evenings—the perfect opportunity to relax, chat, play board games, or simply unwind.

This large living area opens onto a huge terrace. While some will be doing the crawl in the heated pool with a counter-current system, or staying in shape on the two aquabikes, others will treat themselves to a special moment in the hot tub with a view of the Basque hills (open April 15–October 1). Some will roll out their yoga mats to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, or curl up with a good book on the lounge chairs. This terrace invites you to relax, take your time, and truly make the most of your holiday.

LOCATION

Located on the border between the Landes and the Basque Country, in a quiet and peaceful setting, the house is just a few kilometres from the villages of Hastingues and Bidache, known in particular for the Château de Gramont.
