We loved the house wish it was actually on the river but was in walking distance. It was really nice to be able to bring our dog with us to really be family time for us.
So spacious and accommodating. We enjoy cooking and the kitchen was stocked every tool we needed! The hosts were super helpful and all the guidelines were clear. We would definitely recommend staying here!
Everything was perfect! The house is well equipped, tidy, and made our stay comfortable. Check in instructions were super easy. Our kids loved the trampoline and fire pit for smores!
An amazing home for my birthday weekend. Close to new Braunfels for fun activities but secluded and quiet. House was beautiful and clean. Had everything we needed for family nights at home.
We loved how inviting the house looked. My two girls were very excited when they saw the trampoline and would spend their mornings out there jumping. After a day out in the city it was great coming back to the house and feeling it our own. We rested and enjoyed family time for breakfast and dinner. It's a beautifully kept property for an amazing price. I would definitely book it again if available next year we go back.
We chose this property due to it being within 10 miles of New Braunfels. We wanted a quiet and secluded location with easy access to the Comal River Tubing and Schlitterbahn. The house was very nice.
This place was adorable! It was the perfect spot for our family of six to come together to celebrate our daughter's birthday! We cooked, played games, watched the Aggie's continue their 9-0 season!! Gig 'em! We were well cared for by the host, Travis! The place was so comfy, clean, well stocked kitchen (best stocked kitchen yet!), and plenty of paper goods! The house is lovely with lamps, blankets, windows galore, so freshly remodeled, and spacious! We highly recommend this lovely tree-house! Thank you, Travis, for your hospitality and efficient communication. You helped make this special celebratory weekend more special!
This was our fourth or fright time to stay it this property! We can bring our little dog, have our grown children come, and visit extended family with ease. Plus, there are great views from the treehouse and ALL the appliances and kitchenware we need to make some of our own meals! And the host is super!
We've rented this house twice now. It's a great get away. Our extended family rents across the street. It's so nice to just walk over and hang out at the loud house then go back to our quiet comfortable clean house!
This was a great place for our family. The house was clean and set up exactly as we needed. It was a unique home. Lake McQueeney or lack there of intrigued us. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. It's best feature was its worse feature - having to climb those stairs. Loved the patio underneath, grilled or smoked almost every night. Liked pulling my truck in under the house as there were a couple of thunder and hail storms during our stay. Quiet neighborhood.

Easy check in process. Owner is very responsive. We had all the essentials needed to stay for the week. Would highly recommend. Also, there is a trampoline that my 15 yr old enjoyed. Loved the fenced yard and we enjoyed the fire pit.
Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect home and location to stay! There were 3 adults and 3 teens and we had plenty of room. The home was so well stocked with everything you could possibly need! Everything was just as described in listing.

About the host
Hosted by Travis Eppes
I am originally from Houston, Texas, and went to college locally at U of H. Lake McQueeney holds a special place in my heart since my uncle moved here in the mid 80's. Our families spent many a 4th of July coming to this area, playing in the water, fishing, shooting Fireworks and just spending time with family. Currently our family of four ( we have 2 second graders) reside in Huntington Beach, CA, and travel to Texas for frequent visits. We are fairly new to hosting a VRBO house rental, however we have been guests at home rentals all around the world, including Italy where we found some really amazing houses and family hosts. We desire to provide a very unique and cozy rental experience where you will want to return to relax and decompress from the fast pace world.
Why they chose this property
Lake McQueeney is a hidden gem of a private lake and country area, famous for water skiing, fishing and water sports in general. Only 8 miles from New Braunfels, this property is tucked along the best part of the lake, near Treasure Island, where kayaking and paddle boarding are essential to explore around the area. There is water front access 2 blocks away with docks and boathouses for only residents of this street. This house has a gated yard with covered parking.
What makes this property unique
House is newly renovated with a very modern and yet cozy feel. It was built in 1945, however it has been fully rebuilt after it was lifted 14 feet off the ground in the last 2 years. The pictures don't do it justice, as this is a must see to experience the quietness and beauty of this hidden lake which is part of the Guadalupe River system. Private Ski Lodge with ski shows during the summer is just around the "Treasure Island". Amazing kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing on a truly private lake for residents and guests only. The lily pads on this side of the lake are a Bass fisherman's paradise! There is no public power boat access, unless you travel to Lake Placid for the public ramp there.
