About this property

The Sandcastle is a comfortable four-bedroom beachfront family home looking out on beautiful Lake Michigan in Oceana County, 15 miles south of the Silver Lake sand dunes. While Lake Michigan was high for several years, be assured the beach is back, as beautiful as ever!
The 2024 summer season is completely rented.
This summer home sleeps eight, has parking for two cars (additional parking a short drive away), and sits on the northern-most lot of the Driftwood Beach Community - 120 ft. of beachfront. It's an easy walk (we have stairs) down the bluff to the white-sand beach. We rent by the week only.. The Sandcastle is generally available most of the Summer when we're not using it.
The cottage is generally available June, July, August and the first couple weeks of September. Our weekly rate is $2800, and weekly rentals are Saturday to Saturday - Check in 3pm or later, check out no later than 11am.
NOTE: We do charge a $300 premium for the week of Memorial Day, July 4th week, and Labor Day week rentals.
We are dog friendly. We charge $130 per week for a dog with a $100 damage deposit, We have WIFI and cable.
The land immediately north of the cottage is completely undeveloped - unspoiled nature at it's best - beautiful open beach and sand dunes for quiet evening walks or morning jogs. Behind the dunes are woods for hiking and exploring, and little Lost Lake for Blue Heron watching. Enjoy the swimming and kayaking, and at the end of the day there's nothing like relaxing on the outdoor deck, just watching the spectacular sunsets over the lake. And we have been seeing eagles just north of the cottage.
The rental rate for September rentals is also $2800/wk., with a $300 premium for Labor Day week.

We had a very nice time at this cottage on a beautiful bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. The cottage was lovely and well appointed.

Spectacular Lake Michigan Beach Rental!

Wonderful cottage on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. Very clean. Fully stocked. Fabulous beach. Wonderful owners. It was the perfect place to relive childhood memories of Lake Michigan and make new memories with our children.

Great family getaway

Cottage was clean and homey. Plenty of room for 7 adults and a toddler. Enjoyed the deck for watching beautiful sunsets and the bald eagles who perched in the woods. The beach was spectacular!! Great for walks, swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Our family loved it!!!

Family Fun and Lake Michigan Heaven

Sugar beach sand, kayaks, well stocked kitchen and soft beds. As the saying goes this place checks all of the boxes. Very homey and comfy Grammy cottage vibe. Add the Lake Michigan sunsets and the frequent visiting eagle and it becomes paradise.

Just What Our Family Needed!

We had the best week at the Sandcastle. Swimming, beach walking, cooking, reading… all in this comfortable, clean, well stocked beach house. Love that there were laundry facilities so we didn’t have to return home with dirty clothes. The kitchen was fully equipped so we could cook and eat in. And we love that there were multiple places to tuck away indoors and out. We look forward to returning!
