The place you`ll keep coming back to. The stunning views, Cabin at the end of the road and borders national forest offers Wi-Fi, hot tub, and is dog friendly.
The Space:
Perched on the edge of Custer National Forest and the Beartooth Pass, high above the Rock Creek valley floor, Last Resort is the ultimate getaway! Whether your adventure needs space for the whole family or just a private get away from it all, this is the last stop…literally the end of the road. The deck of the main home and large living room faces the south with uninterrupted spectacular views of the mountains and national forest. The only pass through traffic to worry about here consists of birds, deer, elk, etc. and as you are on the lookout for wildlife you will soon realize what we already know....No need to go anywhere once you’re here. Hit the grocery store on the way, bring your favorite beverages, snacks and meals because this home and its surrounding areas will hold you tight in the best ways possible. From this home you can literally walk out the door and on to the national forest floor for a walk, hike, or snowshoe. Have a fire- indoor or outdoor! Pre-order a smores basket and we will have it waiting for you in the home. WiFi allows you to be connected but please note you are remote so the connection is not what you will find in urban areas. Perhaps you want to pretend there is no cell service, but we have that too! The property's seven oversized bedrooms and multiple levels can accommodate 18 guests without feeling crowded. The main home has been remodeled and is tastefully modern mountain themed with touches of vintage. The brand-new garage offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bath as well as a full kitchen, living room and walk out ground level deck. The main cabin upper level holds the king master equipped with a master bath and an open loft area with a queen bed. This master bath includes a private jetted tub. The main level is graced with a vaulted ceiling and an open floor plan with kitchen, dining area and living room. Two queen bedrooms, a full bath and the laundry room also round out the main level. The lower level has a great game area with a pool table, games, gas fireplace, queen murphy cabinet bed, tv area with surround sound and a walk out deck to hot tub, available year-round, . The rec floor also hosts a queen bedroom, king bedroom with a crib, and a full bath. From this fun floor walk out to the firepit as well!

The Neighborhood:
Red Lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains, is a wonderful place to visit if you are looking for family fun, a place to touch the wild, or just a chance to let your hair down. Whether you are wearing Birkenstocks or cowboy boots, you will find something to do here. (Although downtown is paved and we even have sidewalks, Jimmy Choos are probably not a great idea!)
In winter the road ends here. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding and sleigh riding are just the short list of activities that you can do when visiting us.
In summer we revel in the Beartooth Pass opening. We are only 68 miles from Yellowstone Park, but plan on a good two hours` drive as the “Pass” is stunning in high mountain vistas, rocky cliffs, and jeweled lakes. The Custer National Forest is a haven for wildlife including elk, moose, mountain goats, big horn sheep, bears (black and grizzly), mountain lions and wolves. Golden marmots are often seen dashing across the trails. Golden and bald eagles often visit our area, as well as sandhill cranes and blue herons.

Red Lodge, Montana is a rural community that does offer internet and cell service throughout most geographic areas but, some locations are completely void of any internet or cell service. In town and within a 3-5 mile radius of downtown you will enjoy solid cell signal but during times when our population increases due to events, celebration (such as the Fourth of July), or emergency situations such as a wildfire you will notice that these online and cellular services slow down and sometimes, they can slow down to the point where you have to wait to place a call. We can’t do anything to help in these situations, so we encourage people to enjoy the freedom of being “unplugged” and to be patient.

Thank you for the kind words! We're so glad you felt comfortable and well cared for during your stay. It’s great to hear the home had everything you needed—hope to welcome you back again s
Our family greatly enjoyed the seclusion and views of this well kept property. The area provides awesome scenic views and various wildlife sightings. Cabin provided ample room for a large group. Host was responsive to any inquiries. Will utilize this location again in the future.
This was just what we've been looking for, remote, big enough for the family, and a separte apartment for those not wanting to spend 100% of the time with all of us.
Breathtaking views & plenty of room to spread out! Enjoyed the hiking trails in close proximity! Can't wait to book this property during the winter months!
This house was spectacular! Very clean and extremely roomy for my husband and I and our 4 adult children! The apartment area above the garage is just outside the back door and that has two bedrooms and small living area and kitchen area. The main house has ample space upstairs and downstairs with seating areas everywhere. The view from the hot tub just outside the basement walkout door is unbelievably beautiful!
The pictures don't do this property justice! We loved everything about this property. It was the perfect layout with bedrooms on the main floor for the elders, remote basement area for the family with a baby, and guest house for the independent families. The entire group was able to relax and congregate in the main living area and outside areas. We soaked in the views, the sun, the fresh mountain air, and ate together at the large dinjng table. We felt like the Dutton's with the beautiful ranch decor and surroundings!! The road up to the property is a bit rough, but it didn't make us uncomfortable. The bridge being worked on did add to our travel time to/from activities, but we adjusted. AAA lodging was nothing but the best in all things! I we will definitely be looking to stay at properties managed by them in the future! We thank you for the space to gather and connect, a rare and precious time for us!

House is beautiful and very comfortable.
House is beautiful and very comfortable. Had everything you needed in kitchen to cook/eat.
Only suggestion to put dressers in all bedrooms in addition to the closets. And to have cleaners double check pots/pan for cleanliness after someone visits, as well as remove stained sheets. (two minor issues we had) Team members were excellent. Answered any texts I sent with minutes of sending
