We enjoyed staying here and the price was great! Be aware there is a shared wall with neighbors. Also know that there are some rooms with double beds. VRBO allows them to count as sleeping two, but that probably only applies to children.
Knowing all this, we would likely stay here again.
This property was perfect for our Christmas celebration this year. Large kitchen and dining area to eat and play games at. Lots of gas fireplaces to get the place cozy, which we appreciated.
This was a very nice house for our extended family get away that we do every year. It is a warm and cozy farmhouse style home that had nice “ all together” spaces while still having enough room to retreat and rest. The home is very easy to get to and the host Cara is very responsive. I would definitely recommend this place.
Good house, very clean, wonderful area out in the country. Good communication with the owner. Price was right.
Staircase is awfully steep.
Without a doubt would stay again if had the opportunity!
I'd like to give this a 9 out of 10 scale. 4/5 isn't entirely accurate. We'd definitely stay again!
This was an easy property to find. Easy access into the property from the parking area.We were looking for a five bedroom home for the nine of us, and this fit the bill. We prefer a large kitchen to hang out in when our extended family gets away. This had lots of stools and countertop space to sit and chat while the meals were prepared.. Lots of equipment for cooking our Thanksgiving meal. Big refrigerator with good ice making capability. (yeah we've rented houses without a working ice maker - what a pain!). There was only one knob on the stove, but you can see that in the photos. We just moved it around from burner to burner as needed. The double oven was great! The huge dining table was perfect. We all fit for the meals. We could play several games at the same time with enough space to make noise and not really disturb the players from the other game. The gas fireplace was awesome. The children, aged 5 and 9, LOVED the game room full of toys and books. Beds were comfy, bathrooms met all our needs.Good communication/rapid response with the host when we had a small issue with a kitchen appliance. The only item we'd give a point off (on that 10 point scale we'd prefer) is that there was only one smoke/carbon monoxide detector at the foot of the stairs. None near the bedrooms on the upper floor. You could see the mounting brackets, but there were no detectors attached. This can be a concern in any home, and particularly one with gas fireplaces.
We enjoyed our stay at this rural location. It was quiet and we had lots of space. Host was very responsive to questions. Listing mentioned a fenced in backyard but upon arrival it was blocked off and appeared that we weren’t supposed to access it. There were other dogs on the property so we kept our dog on a short leash rather than letting him run much. That was the only thing that didn’t match the description. Check in and check out were easy. Host was very accommodating. House is a renovated farm house I presume and they’ve tried to update it; the typical farmhouse quirks are there (squeaky floors, older beds, etc). Beautiful house inside and out. We enjoyed putting together most of the puzzles they had and relished the physical and spiritual rest we got on this trip. Would definitely come back!
This is an older farm house out in the country. The setup was a little different than what we expected. We stayed in the large house that has another house attached to the back of it and from what I could tell, it has a full basement that is a third rental unit. Even though we had other people sharing the same property, it was still private enough for us. The house is very large. I would stay here again, but there are a few issues I think future renters need to be aware of.
The house is not handicap accessible.
All five bedrooms are up some steep stairs.
There is only one tv in the house. It's in the den/living room next to the kitchen. There are no tv's in the bedrooms.
There is no air conditioning. Our stay was in the first week of June and we were able to sleep fairly comfortable with the windows open. Very much warmer and it would not have been very good.
There is a gas grill in ruff condition and we passed on cooking on it.
Overall a decent place to stay.
We were running too far behind to actually make it here, but the property owners were wonderful none the less. Tha is fir the opportunity hope all goes well.
