Dirty carpet, dirty sheets, dirty counters in bathroom and kitchen, dirty dishes in dishwasher(no dish detergent), food left in fridge, bag of open M&Ms on the master bath counter, tub in guest bath was peeling, tub also didn’t drain properly, stepped on an open safety pin in the master bedroom, parking was a hassle and not convenient, had to walk around the block to access the parking lot. Asked for a refund of cleaning fee. Not sure it was refunded. Haven’t received a confirmation.

Horrible Experience and Horrible Host
I want to start by saying the listing makes it sound like the apartment is in a nice neighborhood that you can walk around in. When we arrived, there were 5 police cars and 1 ambulance blocking access to the parking lot looking for drugs in an infant car seat. We immediately felt unsafe. I called the owner, who acted nonchalant, and said to simply park in a non-booted area on the street.
We finally make it in the apartment building and there was trash and food on the floor in the foyer and elevator and the hallway smelled of weed.
Once inside in the apartment, the temperature was 77 and the thermostat was off so I turned it on to 70 and nothing. I text a picture of the thermostat showing it on and the temperature to the host and his response was to treat us like idiots who did not know how to work an AC. While waiting for his replies, we also found water all over the floor and the fridge was leaking He had my husband pull the fridge out to look at that for him. The host said he would call maintenance. At 9 PM I called the host back and was told that he put a manual request in, had not spoken with anyone and didn't know when maintenance would come. We had all windows open and the temp had still gone up to 78 so I told the owner we would be going to a hotel. The host proceeded to berate me saying I didn't want to stay there to begin with.

I truly apologize for your experience! However, casting and reflecting a false narrative is never a great solution. We communicated very well and i am concern for as with every guest. There was nothing nonchalant when you saw police car and marked it to an adjacent building(not the building you was reserved for) Then for you to say the reason of the police search, as if you knew is oblivious. You told me that building was being raided. Not with five cop cars, theres one only police car with an ambulance at adjacent building complex. Although new on this platform, i never had guest of all races stated the hallway was dirty and that their was trash everywhere and building smell as weed, and on top of it cast a condescending remark of the quality of this neighborhood. Although you said i berated you which i did not, there were false instances made up just to leave, when i was trying give assistance. Just as your many contradictory statements just simply solidifies your motive. This location is a great and safe location in the heart of downtown Atlanta very close proximity to the mercedes Benz Stadium. This neighborhood is a diverse neighborhood. It saddens me that there are people with such acts of prejudgment and I suggest that if you have a hysteria of racist view you should have done more of a demographic search of where you are visiting. Thank you for your verbal compliment that I have a great place! as I told you before Ms. Stacie best wishes to you and your family!

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in
Not quite what I expected
Overall, this was not the ideal property for our weekend getaway.
Pros: There was hot water and plenty of it for all of us to shower.
There was a functional air conditioning unit.
There was plenty of room for our kids to spread out and relax at the end of the day.
We felt safe in the neighborhood and in the unit.
Close to downtown activities.
Cons: We did not get any instructions on parking, so I assumed it would be obvious when we go there. It wasn't. I had to contact the owner and then received directions to the parking area, which was inside a gated valet lot for the neighboring hotel. Very safe but not at all obvious.
There was an issue with the comms box on the building, so it wouldn't connect to the owner to open the main door for us. After standing around and texting with the owner for a while, we finally snuck in when another resident came out. We got to the unit, were able to get in with the door code, and got the key card to access the main entrance. So after that, access wasn't an issue. The whole building smelled like marijuana though, which is out of the owner's control, but still unpleasant.
We definitely recommend a different cleaning service from whatever the owner is doing now. The bed linens were not fresh, there was popcorn in the main bed, and there was a fake fingernail on the floor, so it doesn't appear that the carpet was vacuumed. There were dishes in the dish washer and dirty towels in the washing machine.
There were no bath linens in the bathrooms and I found 4 clean towels in the utility room. I washed the towels that were in the washing machine so we had more linens the 2nd day.
There was only a fitted sheet and a comforter on the beds, no flat sheet and no blanket. I always take off comforters, even in hotels, because those just don't get washed routinely. When I took off the comforter though, there was nothing else to sleep under!
Even though the unit says it sleeps 6 by using the couch as sleeping space, there weren't any extra linens to "make up" the couch as a bed.
The 2nd bathroom tub appears to have been resurfaced, but the surfacing material was peeling off badly, so I couldn't let my kids bathe in there at all.
Overall, poorly maintained property and I would have re-located for this trip if we had been staying longer than 2 nights. Would not stay there again and would not recommend.
Communication: Communication with Ms. Veronica was excellent. She communicated clearly and in a timely manner and she provided succinct and accurate info about checking in and checked in on us throughout our trip.
The property: I was hesitant about renting an apartment unit but the unit is in such a prime location that I decided to try it. Locations such as the Georgia World Congress Center, Benz Stadium, Atlanta Breakfast Club, Mary Mac's Tea Room, Busy Bee Cafe, Atlanta Botanical Garden and the aquarium were less than 10 minutes away. There are a few boarded up homes and graffiti on the wall directly across the street so our initial reaction was, " Uh oh, what did we get ourselves into" . Fortunately, there is a code to enter the building as well as a remote for the parking garage and there are cameras throughout the hallways and in the elevator. Not to mention the coded keypad entry on the individual unit. So we felt very safe once we were in the building.
The unit was exactly as pictured, well maintained and had many of the necessities of home. The walk-in closets, balcony and comfortable beds were an added bonus. Other than a few footsteps above us, our neighbors were very quiet. One even held the elevator door and suggested the cantina within walking distance. It's a little noisy outside (train, traffic, sirens, trash trucks etc) but that is the hustle and bustle of being downtown.
I am so glad that I did not let the negative review turn me off. Beauty is truly within eye of the beholder. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely unit. It is DEFINITELY a diamond in the rough.
