We love the atmosphere and environment at Crystal Mountain, have been coming here for decades. This house fit because it has so much space to be together with family or friends but has separate livings areas for kids, privacy, etc... We like the location in the resort, it's close enough to the core resort without being too busy. The year-round activities make it never get old - the resort is so different in the summer compared to the winter, we always looks forward to the next season. Spring and fall visits have a special feel for us because it's so quiet.

Great Property in Crystal Mountain Resort area
We enjoyed a 3 day weekend with 4 families at the Laughing Moose Lodge. What a great place to hang out with family and friends.
Consistently great property for a large group.
We've stayed at the LML for many years now with a large work group from Grand Rapids. The size, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, etc make it a great space to host a large group. The location is great, the ability to order a shuttle to the lodge is a wonderful perk. With such a big house, more than two shuttle passes would really help let people ski for different lengths of time/travel to and from the lodge. We did run into some housekeeping issues. The upstairs bathroom did not have hand soap, the kitchen only had 2 dishwashing pods and almost zero dish soap, which made washing dishes with a large group, and following check-out procedures a major hassle. Upon moving the living room ottoman, we discovered quite a bit of food/trash/etc. underneath, and there were a lot of food crumbs under the dining table in the basement, indicating less than stellar vacuuming.

Laughing Moose Lodge
This property was perfect for our group. We enjoyed every minute!!! The house was roomy and allowed for us to spead out or be together in one room. The kitchen was well stocked and we made our meals there and saved money. It was so close to the slopes and was so easy to ski, take breaks and head back out. We will be back again!!!

Great for large group!
We had a group of 17 people, adults and teens staying at this property for our annual ski weekend. It was perfect for our group size. The teenagers enjoyed the lower level with pool table, and the adults had plenty of room to gather in the main living room, which has a pretty fireplace and large tv.
The bedrooms were all well furnished and the beds were comfortable. The only thing to be aware of, is the loft is open. So whoever is sleeping in the loft bunks will hear whatever is happening on the main floor below. That wasn’t a problem for our group.
Location is perfect! Great view out the back windows of the golf course/cross country ski area. Very scenic and peaceful. Shuttle passes are included for transportation. We did not use those, as we had someone in our group drive the skiers back and forth. It’s a very walkable distance to the main lodges and shops, but maybe a bit too far to walk in ski boots.
Our families love Crystal Mountain for a family friendly, ski resort choice. This property made our weekend perfect and fun for everyone who joined us!
Any small concern or question we had was very promptly answered by Dave, the property manager. He was very easy to communicate with!

Located at beautiful Crystal Mountain. This home is on the tenth fairway of the Betsie Valley Golf Course. There is a map included in the photos section that shows the Laughing Moose Lodge at lot 97 of the “Club” community. The base of the closet ski lift (Buck) is a 500 yard walk. When considering a rental property, be sure to determine exactly where the lot location is on a map.
Crystal Mountain is an outstanding destination resort, plus there are great local Northern Michigan attractions nearby. Nearby are fabulous beaches at Frankfort and Elberta, plus Sleeping Bear Dunes right up the road, and canoeing/kayak/raft on the nearby Betsie or Platte rivers. Scenic M22, Empire, Glen Arbor, Wine country, Leelanau, Traverse City are all 30-45 minutes away.
Golf: Crystal Mountain has 2 outstanding 18 hole courses - the Betsie Valley and Mountain Ridge courses. The Laughing Moose Lodge is located at the 150 yard marker of the par 5 tenth hole of the Betsie Valley course, so you can sit on the deck, screened porch, or yard and watch the approach shots.
Ski: Crystal Mountain has been rated the best family resort in the Midwest by Ski Magazine. It is very family friendly, yet has lots of snowboard terrain parks and a good mix of difficulty of skiing terrain.
