We had a lovely week in Sandpiper. The location is fantastic, and it’s fun to be on the canal we saw manatees every day. Very comfortable and clean condo.
I love that this place is walking distance from the beach. Although we didn't make it in the area sooner I received a text that it was available to check in hours before time! Only complaint is there were knats in the kitchen.. lots.
The place was within walking distance to the beach and awesome shelling. The unit was nice but I wouldn’t stay there with kids due to many spindles being missing from the staircase. Also, issue with the WiFi but was told to use another units WiFi and password and it worked. Saw manatees, jumping mullets and iguanas. Perfect for adults to unwind.
The rental was beautiful, clean, and near the beach. Everything was brand new. The location was perfect, by our favorite portion of Sanibel’s beach. It had everything we needed, and even provided beach chairs. Hopefully next year this place will be available to rent again. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in the island.
Great location! We found tons of good shells at the beach there! Beds were comfortable and AC was nice and cool! Great view of water. We saw dolphins and a manatee. Plenty of places to walk your dog. If you are interested in a fishing excursion, they will pick you up at the dock behind the unit. They are still working on units from hurricane damage, but any issues are addressed! Would stay here again!

thank you for the great review Carol, we are so thrilled you loved your stay!! Glad you got to see the dolphins and manatees playing in the canal and went out with Captain gabe!
Very short walk to a nice beach where the fishing was outstanding. Canal very handy in the back yard for a boat. Minimal furniture, for example nothing to set a suitcase on, but essentials were there. It was very clean and smelled fresh. The main bed was comfortable. We didn't use the twine.
Condo has been nicely updated. However only on space per condo for parking and they are not marked. We came home early New Years Eve and all spots were taken. Luckily we knew others on island and could park at their house and walk but was definitely an inconvenience. Their are 4 condors and room for 5 cars- all were taken
We were a little disappointed. The downstairs had obviously been redone, but a lot of the slats from the downstairs blinds were missing and the outlet in the downstairs bathroom was sticking out of the wall. Needed to hold on to it to plug/unplug anything. The bed spread and extra blanket smelled bad in the master bedroom. The toilet upstairs sounded like it would exploade as it refilled. The carpet in the upstairs bathroom was dirty. I understand it takes a lot to come back from the hurricane, but some of these things are pretty easy fixes.

Hi thank you for the review. the entire villa was redone top to bottom. I wish we had heard from you during your stay, we have a maintenance man that would have taken care of any and all of these issues easily. We will look into all of them. FYI, carpet in the upstairs is also new.

Impressed with the facade, after inspection not so much!
Impressed with the facade, after inspection not so much. Very poor workmanship on the stair rail, cut my hand going up the stairs, sharp edge on end of railing, poorly equipped kitchen for cooking meals, sewage smell in sink and dish washer. I always think the owners should spend a night in their homes prior to renting, how about hooks in the bathrooms to hang essentials, kitchen equipment that is, useful for preparing meals. On the good side ground are nicely landscaped and excellent location to the beach.

Hi lesley,
thank you for taking the time to review this property. After thoughtful inspection we see that there are ample cooking supplies and utensils.... if there was anything additional you needed, we are always on island and happy to deliver anything you may need. Regarding the stair railing, this was repaired, but we will inspect again. Hooks and towel bars are now being installed in bathrooms. thank you again for staying with us!
Let me start by saying that we've been to Sanibel many times - it's one of our favorite places. We've rented all over the island.Property is in a great location. It's near many restaurants, shops, markets, etc. (within a 5 min drive). Very short walk to the stunning beach. Property management company was outstanding to work with, and check-in/check-out was flawless. Unit offers everything you need. The only issue was the condition of the unit. The vertical blinds in the living room were broken and missing most parts, so closing them offered zero privacy. Given the shared deck in the back, that wasn't comfortable for us. Railing going upstairs was missing many spindles, so be careful with small children until it's fixed. Worn furniture, but nothing that would turn you off and should be expected with a frequent rental in a beach community. Overall, a great option. Once these few things are fixed, it's a great place to vacation. Be sure and speak with the management company for specifics - again, they were fantastic to work with and highly recommended.

Our stay at this property on Sanibel Island was mixed. There were a few positives - the beds were decent, the air conditioning worked well, and the kitchen had the basics to cook meals. The TV setup was fine too. However, there were several serious issues that made the stay disappointing. The biggest concern was that a rat was living in the only grill, making it completely unusable (in addition to not having any gas) and raising sanitation concerns. The listing also advertised kayaks and multiple bikes, but there were no kayaks and only one bike per unit, which was misleading. The unit was also very understocked - just one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, one dishwasher tablet, and no basic cooking items like oil, salt, or pepper. There was only one small bar of soap for two bathrooms. These are all small things individually, but together they show a lack of care for guests’ experience.Several maintenance issues also stood out: loose power outlets, exposed wires, a broken window, and a window shade that was falling down. The twin beds were unusually short, even for someone 5’10”, making them uncomfortable for adults. Finally, the photos in the listing did not match the actual unit. They appear to show a different, nicer unit - which feels misleading.Overall, this rental could be good with proper upkeep and accurate advertising, but in its current condition it falls short of expectations. I would not stay here again unless these issues a
