Great experience
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent the Thanksgiving holiday at the lodge and the well stocked kitchen had everything we needed. In fact the lodge had everything we needed. It was a great experience and the communication with the property manager and owner was top notch. I would absolutely stay at the lodge again.

Family Fun
This is the second time our family stayed at the lodge. Plenty of bathrooms. The wonderful sauna. The little kids love to hike the trails around the house. We all love to jog and walk the road out to the highway. So close to all the Olympic park trails as well as beaches. We use the fire pit for s’mores and conversation. Big comfortable table for all our family meals. Such a well appointed and easy to use kitchen. Corn hole and running around the big yard. Non stop fun for our family.

Another wonderful stay
This is our second time visiting The Lodge and we were so happy to be back! Love the induction cooktop and well-stocked kitchen, enjoyed the firepit and s'mores, the hot tub and sauna, and sightseeing nearby. It is a fantastic place for family gatherings and we hope to return again.

About the host

I've been building and remodeling houses since 1975. I've lived in Washington since I was born and really like Northwest Forests. As a youth I played Cello in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra so I've always loved classical music. I have been married to Alice since 1979. We have two daughters and 4 grandchildren. I come up to the Lodge once a month to both relax and also to keep everything in good working order.

Why they chose this property

I've always wanted to build a cabin in the woods, so we chose a large lot with a lush green forest here in the Northwest. We also wanted a property with a stream running through it located where no highway noise can be heard. It's like having our own little National Park. Property near the ocean would have been nice but I preferred the forest because the forest is rejuvenating for me. From the reviews we have received, I think it is for others as well.

What makes this property unique

After much consideration it was decided that our Lodge would NOT have a TV. We have cell phone service and a wireless internet for people to stay connected with the world beyond the Lodge. The TV seemed to be the biggest interference for people to connect with each other when at the Lodge so we decided to go without. I think this one feature has contributed the most to the positive and rejuvenating atmosphere at the Lodge. We have games, puzzles, a piano, an outdoor fire pit, badmitten net and a trail through the woods..all activities that people enjoy doing with each other.
