WALK FROM FERRY!!! WALK TO TOWN !!! BIKE EVERYWHERE!!!

Experience Block Island the way travelers did a century ago in one of the oldest houses on the island. Situated high on a hill, this former Inn is just two blocks from town, but feels serenely separated from the BI hustle and bustle. Above and away, but close to everything: Bike to beaches during the day, walk to all in town dining at night. Or simply sit on the wrap-around porch and watch as boats make their way in and out of Block Island Harbor.

There is a completely separate(separate approach, separate entrance) two bedroom apartment on side of home, also available for rent.

Amazing host and property

The property is perfect for a large group of people. There are many beds/rooms/bathrooms and great outdoor space. It’s an easy walk to the ferry/town so it’s a great location as well. The host was extremely responsive and made sure our stay was perfect. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing Location!

We stayed for a week - 3 families, the house has several bedrooms so everyone had space and was comfortable. The third level is great for a family - we had a room for our two kids and one for us, as well as a play area. The house is very convenient to town, we barely used our car. The property manager was very easy to get a hold of took the time to accommodate us when we arrived early. Highly recommend.

In the Big House

The house and setting were superb. Eight former classmates from grad school after a 40 year separation convened there and loved it. Thanks go to Douglas Kennedy (our host) for making the arrangements and responding quickly to our questions and requests. He was genuinely concerned about us, and it was greatly appreciated.

Lovely old inn

Our extended family, ages 1 1/2 to 80, numbering 16, enjoyed our week-long stay, giving the 5-13 aged kids the independence to bike or walk into town for ice cream, play games on the sloping lawn and have dinner on the long outdoor table. Excellent air conditioning came in handy. We took advantage of the Block Island Club’s week long membership for tennis and sailing - highly recommend.

Family Gathering on High Street

The Belleview House lives up to its name: gorgeous light and views from high up on the hill. We spent restful hours on the wraparound porch and taking in the views from the front lawn. The beds were plentiful and the layout of rooms was flexible enough to accommodate our family gathering of 5 adults and 4 teenagers, easily. We did not have a car and managed nicely with walks to and from town. We rented bikes from a place across the road, explored the island, dined out and shopped for groceries without a problem. The hill is long and gradual but too bad. We were surprised by the close proximity of other renters in the apartment next door. Everyone was friendly and respectful but having people so close by was a little unexpected. We are so grateful to our host for accommodating us at the last minute and for being flexible. He communicated well and made himself available although there really wasn't any need. Thank you for a lovely and memorable family gathering. We could not have done it without you!

Great Location with easy access to town

This house has plenty of space for large groups. We had 9 adults and 5 children under the age of 5. One family of 5 stayed on the third floor with 3 sleeping spaces and a common area that closed off from the rest of the house so they had plenty of privacy and space to spread out. The other family of 4 stayed on the second floor which also closed off to the rest of the house and had 2 bedrooms with a sitting area. Lots of privacy. The master bedroom was spacious. Everyone said the beds were comfy and the air conditioning was a huge plus!! The bathrooms are small, but it's an older house so to be expected. It has a large front and side yard to play games in. Plenty of parking. Huge dining table which you can't see from pics posted. The biggest drawback for our family was the common areas on the main floor were small. But there were two! Another big drawback was having to wash the sheets and towels. For the price of the house, you should really consider a service for that. This is the first time renting on Block that we were requested to do this. We also rented the apartment which was nice and 3 people stayed there. Overall I would recommend this house. Host was very pleasant to deal with.

Comfortable, convenient, fun

Our group of extended family and friends, ages 10 and up, had a great week. We had one car, which was helpful for luggage and groceries, but we would have been ok without as it’s a short walk or bike ride to town and beach. It was great to be able to walk and feed the animals across the street or have a drink and bite to eat at the beautiful Spring House or Atlantic Inn. The house offered enough privacy for people in our group as well as comfortable common areas, a well-stocked kitchen, terrific porch for hanging out. The big TV was perfect for olympics viewing. Doug, the host, was communicative and accommodating.
