Nice, spacious cabin

We enjoyed our stay, and even saw a bear in the woods adjacent to the house. There were a couple minor issues but the owners were extremely responsive.

Cabin Getaway, w/ Unexpected Off-roading

The cabin was very nice and bigger than it looked in the photos. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to cook with. Loved the fire place and how easy it was to turn on. The cabin also had plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The game room in the basement was big and the tv down there was great for karaoke. The cabin location was off the main paved road and down a dirt road that's wide enough for one car to pass at a time. The initial turn onto the dirt road where the cabin was located had a big dip and then a huge water puddle hole taking up most of the path. If we didnt drive an SUV, we wouldn’t have been able to make it past that if we were in a low leveled car. Just something to consider if you plan to stay there when there's rainy weather. Overall, the stay was enjoyable and our group had a lovely time at the cabin.

Non-functioning HVAC/thermostat& Argumentative Owner

Pro's & Con's:Pros: They have made attempts to update the property and offer some extra's you may not get in other cabins.Con's: The skinny dirt road with giant mud-puddles leading to cabin. Some parts have not yet been updated/cleaned, especially the deck, screens and exterior. Stains on worn carpet leading to the loft. Bare/unpainted wood on stairs leading downstairs. We checked in, the end of Dec to learn the HVAC-TStat wasn't working, only blowing AC, no heat. After a few hours we were able to shed our coats, thanks to some heat from the fire-place. The owner sent out a repair man - the next day (who rigged up a temporary t-stat) so the 1st night was cold, especially in the primary bedroom, and bathrooms with no heat or circulation. The owner (Nicole) then argued that she felt we should have been warm enough since her broken (and removed) nest T-Stat told her it was 71 deg. No apology or reimbursement happened. Never even received a follow-up message as she said would happen. A little concession would have gone a long way. She also could not be convinced that there was no toaster in the "fully stocked kitchen". Normally you wouldn't expect to pay full-price, if you don't get full accommodations (HVAC).

Beautiful cabin, excellent location!!

Our family enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. The location is convenient to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. There was plenty of space for 5 people and the beds are comfortable. During our stay, the home was decorated for Christmas which was a wonderful touch. We would totally stay here again.Note: The driveway is steep and can be slippery when wet. We didn't have any issues with our 4Runner.

Just what we were looking for.

The cabin was cozy, clean and had everything we needed. We were looking for a secluded area and this cabin was located in a perfect location away from others. But close to all the attractions. At one point we had a small issue with the TV, all it took was one text and were answered immediately. We highly recommend.this cabin.

Vacation paradise

It’s a log cabin…in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee…what could be more perfect?! The cabin was gorgeous…the location was perfect…the views were amazing! There were lots of things to do around the GB/PF area, but there were lots to enjoy just being at the cabin. We were so thankful to have a comfortable bed to crawl into after hours and hours of hiking and walking around GB/PF/SMNP. Each day we felt rested and ready to explore new areas! Definitely made vacationing in the Smoky Mountains a highlight of the stay! The host was amazing! They thought of everything and communicated with us. All I can say, if you need a place to stay to relax, explore the mountains, and get a great nights sleep…all close to everything the Smokey’s have to offer…this is the one you need to book!

Cozy getaway

This cabin was super clean and a great place to stay for our weekend. Easy to get to, host was very communicative and helpful, and the kids enjoyed the movie room and pool table. Loved the king sized beds in both bedrooms and little extras like sound machines, touch lamps, and easy on and off cover for the hot tub- which was also very clean and not scummy at all. Could smell the chemicals which was reassuring that it’s treated properly for guests to enjoy. Would stay again!

Short trip away

The place was as described and in a very convenient location. I was impressed with how clean it was. The steps going upstairs could use a carpet clean and the grill could use some TLC but that was nothing that would keep us from coming back. We did have an issue with the hot tub that the owner was very quick to address. They were easy to get ahold of and stayed in contact until the issue was resolved. We loved being able to bring our pup with us and will most likely be booking a mini winter trip here as well.

Lovely hillside cabin

The cabin was lovely and as described, 2 large bedrooms and a sofa bed if needed. Cabin was clean and welcoming. Deck area has big netting to prevent most bugs from entering the property. Beds were comfortable, water was hot when needed. I can’t fault any of the facilities here. I will gladly return to this property in the future.

Great Time

Property was just as described. You can hear the road at all times when outside, but if you dont mind that or can tune it out its fine. Place was clean. Had issues with the TVs and host responded quickly. Still ended up having an issue with the downstairs tv getting internet, but were able to hook up our Switch to it, and it was fine. Wish we would have seen a bear! Maybe next time!

Secluded and convenient

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on the last weekend of September and had a great time at this place! The cabin is almost completely surrounded by woods and neighboring cabins are obscured from view making you feel as if you have the woods all to yourself! It is conveniently located between PF and Gatlinburg and an easy drive to either place or the entrance of the Smokies. The cabin was very clean and we appreciated allowing our 10 yr old dog being able to join us...she enjoyed the rug by the fireplace :) The only small complaint we had (which the hosts have no control over at all so should not reflect on them): we apparently chose to visit during a car expo weekend and were surprised to find out that the noisy cars with backfiring tailpipes drove up and down the strip ALL NIGHT LONG and could be heard from the cabin and basically anywhere you went in either town. We were surprised that this is not curtailed by local noise ordinances and allowed but I suppose the noisy folks bring tourist money to the town, too. In the future when traveling, I will definitely check the calendar to see if our visit coincides with another car expo weekend. Otherwise, I would happily stay here again and recommend to others! Thank you!!

Top Tier Cabin

The cabin was truly amazing. Perfect size for our small family and 2 dogs. Couldn’t believe how clean the place was inside and out. The owners responded to even the tiniest issues immediately (grill wouldn’t ignite) and TALKED me through it. Nothing I loved more was the seclusion and feeling like it’s was our home away from home. The cabin’s locations was smacked dab in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Hot tub, Movie Theater/Game room area was incredible and was frequently used after doing tourist things. Loved every bit of the cabin and looking forward to booking it in the future. Thank You to the owners for setting the bar on how a cabin is supposed to look and feel. Truly made our vacation unforgettable. Thank you again!!!

One week get away for our anniversary.

This was exactly what we needed and what we wanted. The cabin is up off the beaten path, more secluded than many others and the location is centrally located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge/Sevierville. Just a short drive away and you are in the Smokey Mountains National Park which is where we spent a good deal of time. Sitting out on the deck, there is some road noise at times from the main road that is down by the river below the cabin but nothing that would keep us from coming back. The hot tube was perfect and located inside the screened in portion of the deck and was one of our stay requirements. We used it every day and it was great! There was a king/queen and pull out sofa bed but since it was just two of us, way more than we needed. We stayed for one week and plan to be back.

Little Bear was Nice

Very easy entry to cabin! Recommend a 4WD vehicle only, to be able to pull out of driveway. Bathrooms were clean. My husband's a contractor so all the mismatched wood drove him insane but to the untrained eye it's beautiful. Basement floors were not swept. Hot tub worked great! Roku tv's were easy to log into. The view was breathtaking especially while it rained. The rain on the tin roof was so relaxing. And morning coffee on the screened in porch was just the best! Plus we got to see a momma bear and her 2 cubs❤️ while headed back to the cabin after a great day in Pigeon Forge! Recommended this cabin to everyone!!

About the host

Hosted by Nicole Schroeder

Host profile image
We are the Schroeder family and we have been traveling full-time since September of 2017. We started out traveling exclusively in our rv, but fell in love with short term rentals when we explored Europe in 2019. We have been to all 50 states and over 10 countries as we seek to learn more about the diversity that makes each place unique and special. This cabin is a family passion. We are teaching our children about construction, basic repairs, budgeting, hospitality, compassion, and loving others well. They are involved in this property and we hope that they will grow to love hosting as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We have been all across the country in our travels and found that we kept coming back to the Smoky Mountains because we love the area so much. Staying in a log cabin nestled among the trees on the mountain side gives us peace. This is where we come to take a rest and reset. The hot tub and the theater/game room are our favorites. This is where priceless memories are made and we wanted to offer that to others when we were out exploring.

What makes this property unique

The location of this property is something that we love. You are in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg so there is easy access to both. If you are exploring both in a day you can go one way, stop for lunch or a nap, and then proceed to the other city.

The vintage theater seats and big screen tv are also a bonus.

Previous guests have mentioned sitting on the porch drinking coffee and seeing bear down below.

This cabin is authentic with a great location.
