Amazing A-Frame in True Big Bear Style
This charming house is filled with clever design touches and is so comfy, you can feel the love that the owner has put into it over the years. And you really know you're in Big Bear, has a very vintage mountainy feel. Great location near a nature preserve and convenient to all things Big Bear. Would definitely recommend!

Great Location but was not an enjoyable stay
I am not one to use reviews to tarnish the reputation of a place so let me keep it short and easy: the location and place is as described and decent. We had a problem at the cabin that the property management was aware of and were not transparent about and us stress and not really enjoy our stay. It is not due to lack of communication but the nature of the problem that required prior handling and it was not handle and unfotunetly it will contiue to cause problems to visitors.

The Wilkie Cabin in Bigbear, CA
My two older sons, as well as my 2 grandkids and I, stayed at this cabin on 01/06-08/ 2023. The cabin is nice with 3 levels and one and a half bathrooms. Upstairs there is like a family room area, with 5 bunkbeds for kids or adults, a view area of the street and a private bedroom. The first floor has 2 bedrooms and one of them, to the right entrance, is a very noisy room because the heater system is inside the wall of that room. The house has a clean kitchen, with enough plates, cups and utensils for cooking breakfast. In general terms the cabin is nice, spacious and cozy. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The downside of the stay, whoever, was that the cabin rental rate was to expensive for the amenities that the owners provided. For example, the towels were thin, the only hair dryer was very small and old; the bunkbeds pillow covers smell bad and the extra blankes in the closet downstairs also smell very bad. If you wanted to fire log in the fire place, you have to buy your own, and don't use the ones they have because any of them can cause a re- stocking fee of 100 dollars. Oh! And the checking in is at 4:pm and the check out is at 10:am so basically each night is about 600 hundred dollar each with cleaning and VRBO fee. To the owners, we also found a pair of Jeans with belt, underwear and socks inside the drawers in the entrance right bedroom, likely from a previous guest.
