Unwind in a tranquil, relaxed area of the island. Marvel at the stars at night and soak up the sun on a stunning, expansive beach by day! Enjoy a beautiful sunset view of the sound from the spacious back deck. Chat with family and friends on the large side deck with a view of iconic Topsail Beach Water Tower.

The house is approximately a block and a half from the beach access, and about the same distance from the sound. There is a kayak loading area for the sound about a half-mile down the street.

Sound's Great is a charming, recently renovated, well-appointed home with an easy, under 2-minute stroll to one of the most convenient public accesses on spectacular Topsail Beach.
It’s an ideal spot for biking , kayaking, grilling burgers or seafood, or just relaxing with your favorite beverage on a spacious deck. The house is actually 2 separate dwellings, with a total of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and two living areas. (Each level has 2 bedrooms, one bath, and a living area.)

The kitchen and laundry room are located on the second floor, while the first floor features a convenient mini-kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave. Note: Access to the first floor is via outdoor steps, requiring entry from outside the house.

The house is located in Topsail Beach (on the island's south end), a historic and charming town with a missile museum, a 1950s-era putt-putt course, fine dining at the Beach Shop, wine and books at The Quarter Moon, and high-quality gifts at The Gift Basket. You can also catch live music some evenings at Larry’s Deli-Q, Beach Shop, or the local municipal park.

Surf City, with an endless selection of restaurants and fun-filled activities, is only a 10-minute drive away.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Put any moved furniture back to original location.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
We require copies of photo IDs of all adults that will be occupying the property.
We require email and phone number for contact purposes and we have a separate rental agreement that must be signed.
NO early check-ins unless pre-approved. Door code will not work until 4pm.

Wonderful

Wonderful Vacation Spot

We had an amazing time at Sound's Great! The house was very nice and the location was perfect. Very easy access to the beach. We loved everything about this vacation spot. Brenda was great at communicating with me and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again!

Super cute beach house

House was adorable! Very well stocked, beds were comfortable and bedding was very nice. Location was a very easy walk to the beach and the area is quieter than surf city. Hosts were responsive and pleasant. I’d definitely stay here again!

Perfect Family Setup

We absolutely loved our stay in this beach house! We found it clean, well stocked and comfortably accomodating. The way the upstairs is somewhat separate from the downstairs worked well for our older children to have their own space without being too far. We enjoyed riding bikes to nearby stores & restaurants and look forward to booking this house again next year!

Lovely hosts and nice place

Overall the location was good, a short walk to public beach access. The host was very accommodating, with extra supplies and snacks provided in the home. They were very responsive when we contacted them about an issue in the downstairs. The upstairs was very nice and maintained. The downstairs left some things to be desired.

First but not last trip to Topsail Beach

This house is amazing. If you’re looking for clean, modern yet quaint, convenient location, and comfortable, this is the house for you! Less than a 2 minute walk to the beach, great view of the sound and great local shops and restaurants all within 5-10 minutes from the house. This was our first trip to Topsail Beach but definitely not our last. Brenda is an amazing host and gave us all the local inside information for restaurants and shops. All we can say is “wow”! What a memorable and great vacation at Topsail and we can’t wait for the next time.

Topsail Beach Trip

This house was beautiful; charming and quaint. It had a well-stocked kitchen of dishes, utensils…. The drawers and cabinets were even labeled to help find items. Bathrooms were well stocked; and there’s a washer and dryer to use. The bedrooms were all spacious and cozy. The outdoor deck was nicely large, with plenty of chairs and tables for outdoor eating. The big windows and sliding doors made for great views and natural lighting inside. The downstairs was impressive in that it really was another living space. It was close to a beach access; an easy walk. We loved this house and would definitely return. The owner was an excellent host.

Perfect place steps from the beach

We were so impressed by this property and the communication with the owners that we’re already discussing a future summer vacation here. Everything was clean, as described, with labels and instructions making it easy to find anything we needed. I think of all the places we’ve stayed this one was the one was the best stocked and the thoughtful additions were so handy (all the grilling items, beach chairs, towels, shades, snacks, waters, dishwashing pods and laundry detergents, a first aid kit, keypad entrance etc…too many things to name). We recommend 100%!

Relaxing days

We stayed at this property for 4 nights over a holiday weekend. We had originally planned to stay 5 nights, but a passing hurricane delayed our trip by a day. Brenda proactively communicated and proposed plan B and she refunded the night we missed. We were able to checkin a day later then planned and everything was perfect and as stated on VRBO. Great communication, great location close to beach, comfortable places to relax both on outdoor deck and in both levels of the house. Plenty of extra supplies provided that you don’t normally find in a rental. We loved our stay and will return.

Perfect!

Two families needed a break from the city-life, and boy did we find it with Sounds Great! Not only is the home in a perfect location with both beach and sound views, but it is fully stocked and ready to go! Beach chairs, beach wagon, boogy boards, umbrella, and sand toys being at the home and for guest use really lightened our load when packing. The downstairs living space is just as nice as equipped as the upstairs. The fact that the living spaces are separated was great for us since we were two families. The huge deck was the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and visit with friends. The owner went above and beyond to check-in with us and to make sure we had everything we needed. Very responsive and kind. We loved our stay and hope to rent again!

Absolutely perfect beach getaway! The house had everything we could possibly need for the beach—chairs, umbrellas, toys, even a wagon to haul it all. The walk to the beach was super easy, just a few minutes and we were on the sand. The home was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The owner was fantastic to work with—very easy to communicate with and incredibly accommodating when we needed to change our vacation week. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Great location!!!

Really enjoyed the location of the house and had a wonderful time. The only thing that didn’t work well was the stairs being outside. It made it slightly challenging to have a cohesive binding trip. We made it work though. Other than that I have no complaints.

Wonderful house with Gracious Hosts

My family and I had a great time at this property for a small vacation while our kids were on their Spring Break. The house accommodations were fantastic. Weekend getaway

This house was everything and more for our stay! Brenda was amazing to work with and answered every question I had in a timely manner. She even let me know one morning that there was a reg flag warning at the beach and to stay safe! The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed for the house and the beach! We will hopefully be back next year!

Annual Topsail Getaway

Our family (aged 12-75) had a great stay at Sounds Great. Great location in South Topsail and easy walk to beautiful, non-crowded beach. Home is decorated very nicely with lots of great features.

Great stay

The property was a great set up for our stay with three teens. They had their own space for privacy and retreat. Attention to detail
