Great place for larger group with lots of beds and bathrooms to cater for everyone. Jo was easy to deal with and made sure we had everything we needed. We all had a great time and would stay there again.
This was our second family stay at this wonderful property. The location is ideal for those wishing to go up the mountain to ski, and for those wanting to remain at the property to relax. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and invited the children to view the farm animals being fed. We will book in here again next time we need large family accommodation in this area, hopefully next ski season.
This was the perfect house for our big group (5 families with young kids). The set up was spacious enough to relax (kids and adults found soon found their zones) yet still had that cozy warm communal feel.We had the chance to get up close to the cows alpacas and cooks for a feed which was an amazing experience.The hosts were very hospital…including little Roxy who we all miss already! Thanks for having us.
Perfect place to gather family and friends for our birthday weekend. Sitting around the firepit enjoying the amazing view was 5 stars. Jo was the perfect host.
An amazing location and venue for a great weekend away with family and friends. Would recommend to anyone - Hosts are very easy to communicate with and have set up an memorable location to be enjoyed.
Couldn’t fault the accommodation. Place and views were incredible and host Jason and Jo were so accommodating. Will visit again if they will have us.
Five stars 🌟
Incredible experience staying at Jason and Jo's. Jo was so helpful and quick in message responses.
Allowed early check in and relaxed check out.
Showed us around the property and let the kids feed the animals.
Absolute best experience ever! Love it
We had a great time there!!! Best place to stay if group is bigger. We were 23 people including children and having three separate kitchens and seven bathrooms for all families make stay much easier with kids.
Kids have fun feeding cows and chooks!!!
Fire pit outside is a huge bonus in such cold weather with all wood supplied.
We wish we have book a one day xtra day just to spend whole day at farm. Definitely book again if have any plans in future.
We had the most relaxing stay. The accommodation was perfect for our family of 14 people. The view from the main living areas was magical. There were so many highlights but I will summarise a few:
* the pool overlooking the mountains
* roasting marshmallows on the fire pit
* feeding the alpacas
* collecting eggs for breakfast
* fishing in the dam
* playing on the swings
* watching the sheep wandering the property eating grass
The owners and their 3 boys were so friendly and helpful. Our girls loved their toy poodle named Roxy.
All in all, everyone had an unforgettable experience :)
Thank you Jo, Jason, Michael, Josh and Max!

Negatives

A few little maintenance tweeks that could easily be done with the right tool? Downstairs bathroom.
We went away with 6 families. 10 adults. 9children (3x 13yo/6x16yo). The property layout was amazing and accommodated us all. The views were breathtaking. Plus, Roxy, who would greet us daily and stay for cuddles, she was the toy poodle who won the hearts of everyone. The house was separated into 3 spaces. Each with its own kitchen/shower/so many ensuites. The only downfall were the bunkbeds. These were too small for our children, coupled with a weight limit. And the room space was very small.
We came together in the evening and laughed around the massive outdoor fire pit.
We were around 40minutes from Mt Bulla. An easy drive. And, 20minutes from Mansfield, another easy drive.
Highly recommended.
Our group of 20 had a great time at Oberon Farm Estate. The owners Jo & Jason were amazingly friendly and helpful. Roxy (the farm dog) was adorable and very friendly with the kids. The property was good with plenty of room for a big group and the views were breathtaking. There was something to do or see for all ages.
Just a few takeaway points:
- Best to drive up during the day given there's a bit of a dark dirt road to navigate the property.
- The house's cleanliness was ok.
- Two of the downstairs rooms don't have heating so best to bring extra warm blankets!
- Nearest supermarket is about 20 mins away (40 mins round trip)
- Pool is on owner’s property so not much privacy.
- We encountered a few minor issues with the property however Jo & Jason were very prompt in responding and helping out.
Overall we had a great time and would definitely consider coming back!
Thanks Jo & Jason.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Very lovely hosts but a little disappointing
First up, there were several positives: Jo and Jason were very friendly hosts and lovely to talk to, and they were willing to go above and beyond to make our stay positive - for example happily giving us late checkout without a fuss. The location was fantastic (you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere) and the views really are superb. The beds were also good and we all slept well which is a nice change from our typical experience of accommodation like this! We had 12 adults (6 couples) and two infants and there was plenty of extra space.
On the other hand, there were a few disappointments: the cleanliness of the property when we arrived was very poor. Much of the inside was covered in dust when we arrived, there were cobwebs throughout the inside of the house, dead flies were in the window-sills, several spiders were found in the one bathroom and there was even a chocolate wrapper on the floor of one of the bedrooms. The carpet was lifting up on one of the bottom stairs which was a bit of a safety hazard. The hot water took several minutes to come through in the shower and when it did it was very difficult to regulate the temperature (at least in the master bedroom) which all but prevented any chance of a pleasant shower. The couches were very old and some had lost all support/cushioning. Whilst the owners were lovely and not at all noisy or intrusive, nowhere in the listing did it indicate that the accommodation was right next to the owner's property which was a bit disconcerting on arrival as we had booked this place for its privacy. Similarly, the photos/listing do not explain that the pool is literally out the front of the owner's house which felt quite uncomfortable (though again, the owners did nothing to make it so, they were lovely). Lastly, not having a clothes iron was a real pain in the backside! Though again, to be fair, this was not advertised in the listing.
All in all, we had a great time and were well looked after (hence the four stars), but considering all of the above, we felt the accommodation itself was well short of 5 stars.
We stayed here for our visit to Mt Buller in the snow season with a large group of 5 families, and can only say exceptional things about the experience. Rooms were all neat and tidy on arrival, and we were warmly greeted and welcomed by Jo at our agreed check in time. The space was just surprisingly ample for the 20 of us including kids. It was also a very continent stay to have multiple kitchens and enough individual bathrooms for every family, enough TVs for the kids etc. Overall I can say we all had a great time and would highly recommend this place as a nice place to stay for groups of ~20. Thank you Jo!
