Our overwater bungalows are brand new (grand opening is May 1st, 2021) and were designed, top to bottom, to be the best and most affordable overwater bungalows in Bocas del Toro.

Additionally, our location was specifically chosen to be close to all of the action that Bocas del Toro has to offer, while being removed enough to be immersed in nature and the local culture. Our views are absolutely breathtaking, with direct sunset views straight over the Caribbean Sea. The lights of Bocas Town twinkle in the distance, and the mountains of mainland Panama rest in the distance over the Bahia de Almirante.

More than we'd hoped for!

What an amazing experience. The bungalows we're phenomenal, the views fantastic, location fabulous, and the hosts far exceeded our expectations. Drew and Tamara are a lovely couple and have a vacation destination to compliment them superbly. Very helpful with local knowledge and how to maximize your experience for the duration of your stay. Could not recommend thier property high enough. The perfect getaway. They even arranged for us to meet the President at the airport but that might just have been a coincidence. Who knows! I highly recommend utilizing their offerings of the evening meals. Their food was of the highest quality, very tasty and fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients from farm/sea to table. Good jod guys.

Sol Bungalows is a new, family-owned overwater bungalow B&B on the Sunset Coast of Isla Solarte. We started our B&B out of a love for Bocas del Toro and a desire to show the islands to the world!

Everything was carefully planned and chosen for our business. The location was selected to put our guests within easy distance of all the main Bocas attractions. The bungalows were thoughtfully designed to include all of the top amenities that overwater bungalows are desired for. Our respect for the local environment and people helped guide us to create a place that is sustainable and empowering for our community. Some highlights of our business are that we are solar-powered, we catch all of our water from the rain, and our workers come directly from our small island community.

Your hosts, Drew (USA) and Tamara (Swiss), have lived in Bocas del Toro since 2015 and have both worked as guides. Drew worked for a non-profit, and Tamara worked for one of the most exclusive hotels in the world. Together, we combine our experiences and knowledge of the archipelago to give you the best possible Bocas experience!

We chose the location of Sol Bungalows because it met these criteria:

Close to Bocas Town for easy access to restaurants, shopping, and essentials (but not too close).
Close to surfing but with calm water for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and swimming.
Direct sunset views.
Views of the mountains of mainland Panama.

We feel we were extremely lucky in finding this property, and since we live here ourselves, we absolutely love it as it fits our personal and business interests. We really do have some of the best views in all of Bocas!
