Trail Lovers Getaway - walk or bike to downtown
Come relax or be adventurous during your stay in this newly remodeled historic home in the beloved South Broadway neighborhood. This is the perfect location for a true Helena experience! Spencer Street is nestled between 4 trailheads and within minutes of downtown's breweries and locally owned shops. This unique area of Helena known for its closely connected quaint homes that once housed gold miners working up nearby gulches. Welcome to the neighborhood and let us know if you need anything!
The house features two bedrooms with brand new mattresses, a fully equipped kitchen, and great outdoor space with views of the mountains. Enjoy a personal fenced-in yard or the shared garden space with the grill and picnic table. We had fun furnishing this space with a mix of vintage and modern furniture and some of our favorite artwork and handmade lighting. Get in touch with the host if you want to know more about the artwork that fills the space or more about the local art scene!

I really enjoyed staying again in this historic neighborhood near downtown!
The property has been nicely updated and was very comfortable, clean and cozy for our stay. There was everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals.
The mattresses and bedding were great, so we slept well.
Even with some snowy weather, it was easy to stay warm as the building is well insulated.
This was my second stay here, and I would definitely stay here again next visit as I have family in the area.
It's a wonderful base, and has some good memories.
My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. The hosts were accommodating and flexible. The apartment was clean and pleasant, and I loved looking at Breena’s beautiful ceramic pieces. The location is wonderful. We enjoyed the charming ambiance of the old historic mining neighborhood and I had the most pleasant walk through the neighborhood and nearby trails in a beautiful snow storm. I would love to come back in the spring or summer when all of their flowers are in bloom.
Great location, walking distance to multiple trails. Also close to downtown, restaurants, and shops. Cute neighborhood. Nice comfortable place with yard access as well.
Communication with/from hosts was excellent. Home was clean and cozy and stocked with all of the essentials + more. Location perfect for access to downtown/hiking trails. Only took a star off because it wasn’t clear in the listing that there was an upstairs renter… Not a huge deal but we are light sleepers and were woken up a few times when someone walked around above us. Only other issue was the bed was SUPER loud when one of us rolled over so we kept waking each other up. Maybe not an issue for most people…. As I said, we are light sleepers so just something to note if you are too. Otherwise we would definitely stay here again!!!
Lovely space and within walking distance of downtown
The space was very nice, comfortable, and clean. I enjoyed being within walking distance of downtown and right next to trail systems up into the hill. I would definitely recommend this property.
This property was excellent!! The trail to Mt Ascension is right out the back door! So fun. And lots of historic homes in the neighborhood you can learn about if you go for a walk. The owners are super to communicate with and available if you need anything. We had a great time! Plenty of room for this family of 5.
Charming downstairs apartment near Trails and Old Town
Quiet neighborhood on the edge of town. Walk to plethora of hiking and biking trails and saunter through Old Town Helena the other direction. Nice little yard for our dog. Everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Easy communication with the owners.
The surrounding trails and close proximity to downtown could not have been better. This property is in a well kept and charming area. Very much enjoyed my stay.
I have family in Helena and visit often. I've rented various places through VRBO and I have to say that this is one of my favorites. The apartment was comfortable, clean and thoughtfully stocked (thanks for the Q-tips and Kleenex). Perhaps the best part is the neighborhood. This apartment is located on a street that is really a paved alley. The older homes are squeezed in together in every possible way. They are in all stages of repair and everyone has a project--clearly labors of love for the residents to keep up these old places. It was very very early spring, but I could tell that most places had gardens tucked in whatever space was available. It was extremely quiet--little traffic from residents only and not so much as a dog bark (and I had a dog with me). It is just a couple blocks from Helena's fantastic south hill trail system. You could walk downtown for dinner (all down hill), but have that extra glass of wine and dessert as the walk back will burn some calories;)
We really enjoyed our time at this property. We were a little surprised that it’s the downstairs of a home, and somebody lives upstairs. But we barely heard the upstairs person, and the downstairs has much more natural light than a traditional basement. It was very clean, had a fairly well stocked kitchen, and had really comfortable beds. Communication with the property manager was spotless. And the house is located maybe 500 yards from amazing trail systems in the south hills. Would definitely recommend this home to others.
We do not have any family in the area. So we chose to do a staycation Thanksgiving. We were able to bring our dog and hunt some areas within short driving distance a couple of mornings. This allowed for him to burn off energy and then we could spend our evenings either cooking at the condo or eating fine dining within walking distance at the nearby restaurants. It was wonderful.
Cute and quaint, great location for downtown and hiking.
