Welcome to "THE BEARS DEN!" Located on the scenic Allegheny River in Tidioute PA. Come spend some time away and enjoy what nature has to offer. We are surrounded by the Allegheny National Forest and the Allegheny River, where there are endless outdoor adventures. Just to name a few... hiking, kayaking, floating the river, fishing. The Bears Den is Clean & Bright with that outdoor mountain feeling. You can relax on the shared huge "cracker barrel" style porch and enjoy the river views.

The space
Newly renovated in 2021. The Bears Den is a wide open layout. We have a fully equipped kitchen and A/C to keep you cool during the summer months. Enjoy summer nights by the fire. Don't forget to look up at the stars at night... you will be amazed at what you see! This is the perfect place to connect with nature and leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. If you're looking to launch your kayak or canoe, the public river access is less than a minutes walk. No Smoking inside. No Parties. Firepits on-site and grills. All lofts and apartments have its own private entrance. Guest have full access to yard, fire pits, grills, patio, deck, parking and river access.

The bears den was a nice quiet getaway for me and my wife to celebrate our anniversary. She chose this time of year because of the fall leaves and the Allegheny national Forest was full of awesome autumn sights. The property is a repurposed restaurant and each unit has a unique theme. We loved the decor and the privacy. The river is short walk from the front door. We would stay again for sure.

The Bears Den was absolutely PERFECT!

Property was exactly as described and PERFECT for what we were looking for and needing. Host Lyndsay was incredibly responsive. We will definitely be returning in the near future!

Bears Den

Another great stay! This is our third annual trip to the Bears Den and thank you for allowing us to bring our dog. Got an apple pie at the pie shop/garden center just up the street. Not our first, we usually get one every time we travel to Tidioute. It’s worth it. We enjoyed the Riverside trek hike this time, lots of birds are seen on this trail….we heard more than saw this time. Hubby reminisced about coming to the area to visit family when he was a youngster and also hunting there as a teenager, also took care of some family graves for Memorial Day.

We live in Cleveland, Ohio with our 3 children and 2 dogs. We first went to Tidioute, PA to visit friends at their family cabin. We fell in love with Tidioute immediately! The amazing views, all the outdoor activities no matter what season. We bought our family cabin in Tidioute 11 years ago. All of our friends and family love coming to Tidioute, so we purchased a few properties to rent out.

In Cleveland, Ohio we have long term rental houses that we have had for over 25 years, along with a successful family business.
