Extensive heathlands, fairytale lakes and hilly landscapes provide unique experiences in this extraordinary natural environment. The Limfjord is one of the original settlement areas of the Vikings, and if you are lucky you may still find tangible evidence of this culture on the beach in the form of an arrowhead or stone axe. A visit to the Ertebølle Stone Age Centre and the Hjerl Hede open-air museum is highly recommended, where you can experience the development of Danish village life throughout history at first hand in the historic houses and show workshops. If you are holidaying with several families, you can rent the neighbouring house at the same time.
