About this property

Buck Ridge Log Cabin Wildlife & Montana Woods

Escape to **Buck Ridge Log Cabin**, a cozy Montana retreat tucked beneath towering Ponderosa pines near Rogers Lake. If you're looking for peaceful mornings, abundant wildlife, star-filled nights, and easy access to some of northwest Montana's best outdoor adventures, you've found your place.

Wildlife is part of the experience here. Deer and wild turkeys frequently wander through the property, and the surrounding forest is alive with birds and red squirrels. Nearby Rogers Lake is home to loons, bald eagles, great blue herons and other wildlife, while elk also roam the surrounding country.

Step outside and explore nearby logging roads, trails and state land. The area offers wonderful opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, wildlife watching and simply wandering through the Montana woods. Rogers Lake is within walking distance and provides a beautiful, quiet place to enjoy nature.

**Explore Northwest Montana**

* Approximately 44 miles to Glacier National Park
* 24 miles to Whitefish
* 14 miles to Kalispell

After a day exploring Glacier National Park, Whitefish or the surrounding mountains, come home to the cabin, fire up the outdoor grill, relax around the fire pit, or settle onto the porch and watch for wildlife moving through the trees.

Inside, Buck Ridge has the character of a true Montana trapper's cabin, with rustic details, colorful touches and a comfortable open layout. The kitchenette makes it easy to prepare breakfast before heading out for the day. Fry up some bacon and eggs, pour a cup of coffee and enjoy breakfast while watching the woods wake up outside the windows.

**Sleeping & Amenities**

The cabin offers a queen bed, single bed and leather futon, making it a comfortable choice for a couple, small family or close group of friends. Guests also have a kitchen, bathtub and shower, outdoor grill and fire pit.

We have horses, two dogs and barn cats on the property. The dogs have their own securely fenced area with an electric fence.

**A Few Things to Know**

This is a rustic Montana cabin in the woods, not a resort, and that's part of its charm. Bring layers and something warm to wear, even during the summer. Mountain evenings and mornings can be surprisingly cool.

Come for Glacier. Stay for the quiet porch, Ponderosa pines, wildlife and a little taste of the Montana life we love.

About the host

Hosted by Alex & Tammy Fisher

Host profile image
We’re Alex and Tammy, longtime Montana outdoor enthusiasts who love horses, good food, wine, wildlife and life in the mountains. We’ve worked in the adventure industry, explored Montana’s backcountry on horseback, hunted, fished and traveled extensively, but Montana is always home. We love sharing a little piece of the life we enjoy with our guests and helping them discover the places that make this area so special.

Why they chose this property

We chose the Rogers Lake area because it offers the peaceful, wild side of Montana we love while still being close to Kalispell, Whitefish and Glacier National Park. Buck Ridge Log Cabin sits among towering Ponderosa pines, where deer, wild turkeys and birds are part of the everyday scenery.

Rogers Lake and nearby trails are within walking distance, with opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, fishing and exploring the surrounding woods and public lands. We especially love the quiet mornings, cool mountain evenings, wildlife and the feeling of being tucked away from the busy world.

It’s a wonderful home base for exploring northwest Montana, but some of our favorite moments are simply sitting on the porch, listening to the forest and enjoying the slower pace of Montana life.

What makes this property unique

Buck Ridge isn’t a fancy resort cabin. It’s an authentic little Montana log cabin tucked beneath towering Ponderosa pines. We hand-sanded and chinked the cabin ourselves and added the loft and kitchen over the years, giving it a character all its own.

What makes it special is the setting: deer and wild turkeys wandering through, horses on the property, quiet mornings on the porch, nearby Rogers Lake and trails just waiting to be explored. You can spend the day at Glacier or Whitefish, then come home to a peaceful cabin in the woods, grill dinner, sit by the fire and enjoy a true taste of Montana life.
