-Denali National Park Main entrance is 7 miles to the north.
-World Famous Glitter Gulch for all your Dining & Gift needs including the Alaska Salmon Bake, Prospector Pizza, Karsten's Public House(One of our Favorites), Crow's Nest, & Denali Grande Denali to name a few.
-Healy is 18 miles north that has a large grocery store, golfing, ATV opportunities and the Alaska Famous 49th State Brewing Company.
-Dog Sled Tours available from Iditarod legend Jeff King.
-Multiple Rafting companies to Raft the Nenana Canyon.
-Meat cache is also a double for a kids tree house. Mattress and lights
-Denali park road lottery in September. Entries are required by May 31 each year. Visit -NPS.gov and type in Denali Park Road lottery.
-When booking please do not leave a day that is non-bookable on either side of your stay. If you do, we may call you and see if you can adjust your vacation plans or we may not be able to rent. We only have approximately 115 days that we can possibly book and if every guest left a day or two on either side that is un-bookable, we could potentially lose out on half our season. 10 mins from Denali park visitor centre, well located to explore this beautiful park of Alaska. House is comfortable and well equipped with everything you might need

Wonderfully appointed, clean cabin in a charming setting close to the park. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit watching the airstrip as well as the surrounding scenery. Oh so close to Denali. Will absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend this property. (Airplane noise was not a distraction for us)

Even better than the posting!

The log house on Denali Airstrip is even better than the pictures! It was a wonderful place to stay- the hosts are super responsive and accommodating and the property is amazing. If you are planning a stay in the area, this is definitely the place to be!

Perfect home at Denali

We absolutely loved this cabin and wished we had planned 1 more day in Denali. The cabin is spotless, so spacious and relaxing. All the comforts of home are there and you are so close to Denali adventures. We recommend the flight seeing tour, the bus tour and at least 1 hike. Then a relaxing evening watching the planes from the cabin. Lovely stay and our hosts were so helpful.

The house is adorable, right next to the park entrance, perfectly distributed for three couples, fully equipped (though dishwasher did not work). We loved it.

Perfect location near Delani!

We absolutely love our stay at this cabin. It’s only a few minutes away from Delani National Park. It sits by an airstrip and we loved watching the planes fly out! We booked a last minute tour with Denali Air and it was the highlight of our stay! The Cabin is cleaned and well stocked. Communication with the owners was easy. We highly recommend this cabin, our family had the best time!

Awesome Stay

I took my family to Alaska for my dad's 65th birthday and not a single thing (besides the fire in Denali NP) disappointed, especially the stay at Kelly's house at MP 229.5! The log cabin feel of the house was especially cozy, and my family was fascinated by all the pelts and aviation decor all around the house, which made it feel even more unique. Kelly was a great host, property was clean and well described - and the convenience of the Denali Air airstrip was an added bonus as we both watched AND flew in the planes there. Absolutely would come back!

The cabin is very nice, although the living room would be small for a group of six to congregate. Considering it never gets dark in the summer we would have liked shades on the front door window. We enjoyed watching the airplanes take off and land.

Log Cabin in Denali

From the time we walked in we felt like we were stepping into the Alaska mountain back country. It was a great location so close to Denali, but made us feel like we were in our own back cabin. The cabin was super clean, wonderfully decorated and had all the supplies we needed. Although we didn't barbecue, the set up was nice to bbq outside. Next time we will take an evening to eat outdoors. It was fun watching the planes taking off right outside our door. Beds were comfortable and the living room was just right to sit and visit at the end of the day. Highly recommend!

such a beautiful and cozy cabin. Plenty of space for the 5 of us ... loved having the upstairs suite to be able to retire for the evening. The airstrip next door was cool. Was fun to see the small planes coming and going a few times a day. VERY close to the Denali visitor center. On one of our morning hikes we got rained on and we were able to just pop back to the cabin to change into dry clothes before continuing on our day.

How did we meet, Kelly had a job in Southeast Alaska 1991, I worked as a Ticket Agent. His work company would freight just about everyday, we started to chat and out on a date it was year 1991, we have been married since 1992.
We both enjoy our family time with our 3 wonderful children and enjoy our time with our 7 grandkids, Alaska will always be our home.

Why they chose this property

We have another VRBO just 2 miles off of the Denali highway, at Cantwell, and decided to buy another property to share. The Property at Cantwell is called "Gorgeous Lakeside Chalet" and if the log home isn't available, you may check this property out as well.
We wanted to open our 2 homes for other travelers to enjoy our Alaskan nature and relax at the same time.

What makes this property unique

We feel that MP 229.5 is the most centrally located property in relation to Glitter Gulch, Denali National Park and activities taking place between the Park and the Denali Highway to the South
