Nice Stay

We had a great time staying here. It had most of the items that we needed and provided a good amount of space. The parking spot is a huge bonus. Neighborhood is just fine. The walks were a bit farther than I anticipated, but I will take blame for that with a lack of knowledge of the area. Metro system was extremely handy! The only bathroom is located upstairs which was little bit of a pain, but nothing major. I wish they would have had basic cable included, as we do not use many streaming services, but that's just us. All in all, would definitely stay here again.

Great DC location

Loved the neighborhood. Grabbing bikes at Lincoln Park and riding to the National Mall to see all of the sights was so convenient. Place was perfect for our group of 4. Would definitely stay again!

Close to everything

Glad to have soft beds, a kitchen, nice shower, and laundry facilities so close to everything. The best bonus was the dedicated parking spot!!

Very nice home and neighborhood

Nice location… 1 mile walk to the capitol. House was well equipped and comfortable. Weather was perfect so walking was enjoyable. We did a lot of Uber.. which got expensive. In retrospect, probably should have utilized public transportation which is close by. Many people also rented bikes and scooters.

Value for location

Our family (2 adults, 3 teens) stayed at this property over Spring Break 2023. Overall, we felt the property is a good value for the location. Positives: the closest metro station (Armory) is about a 15 minute walk and several grocery stores within easy driving distance. The neighborhood seemed safe and quiet, just the normal amount of street noise. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners at the property - it was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals, except a pizza cutter. Assigned, off-street parking is a plus. Decor in the living area & kitchen is very Insta-worthy; all artwork was done by the homeowner which is a fun touch. Beds were comfortable. Issues: - Bathroom is very dirty. The floor and shower specifically need attention. The floor had visible dust and previous tenant hair around the perimiter and in the corners. The shower has orange mildew buildup as well as a few areas of mold. - Ring doorbells - this is probably a bonus for some renters however we were uncomfortable with them. It feels invasive to know you are being recorded by someone else every time you open the front and/or back doors. We have stayed in other properties with video doorbells, but there has always been a unit inside the property so that we could see what was outside. The Ring doesn't benefit renters if they can't see the feed, which is why it feels invasive. - we were not aware there was another dwelling in the lower level of this property until we received the check-in instructions. We could hear voices through the floor so we felt very self-conscious about our own conversations as well as our footsteps. It is an old home so everything sound you make is magnified. A few other notes: - no towels in kitchen. We brought a hand towel down from the bathroom for drying hands & dishes because there were no towels provided in the kitchen. - vent hood above the range is hung very low. My husband hit his head on the range hood so many times that we lost count. - Both bedrooms need black-out curtains. There are privacy shades but they do not block the light at all. The light from the streetlights was so bright, we could walk around the room at night and see clearly. We would also suggest a privacy shade for the front door for anyone sleeping on the sofa, and for general privacy of renters.
