Cycle routes in the lagoon area start from the house; from Sottomarina you can cycle and walk around the Lusenzo lagoon. From Chioggia, you can reach Piazza Vigo and take the vaporetto to the island of Pellestrina, which is well worth a visit. Not to be missed are the historic cities of art in the region: Venice and the islands of the lagoon; Padua (40 km) with the Basilica del Santo and the botanical gardens (UNESCO World Heritage Site); Vicenza (80 km) with its Palladian architecture; Treviso (70 km) with its canals and frescoed buildings; the Renaissance city of Ferrara (80 km), Ravenna (90 km) with its Byzantine mosaics and a series of medieval towns: Comacchio, Monselice, Este.
