Note: This suite is available Sunday through Thursday evenings. This historic home has steep stairs leading to this suite!

This beautiful, historic Inn offers 8 private suites. The Penthouse Suite occupies the entire 3rd floor and is very private. The large sitting area has a TV and fireplace. The modular/sectional sofa can sleep a 3rd person/child, linens provided. It is not a fold out bed, and can be made up in advance if requested. MAX OF 3 PEOPLE IN THE ROOM! There is also a kitchenette/wet bar with min-fridge and coffee maker. The spacious outdoor deck is the highlight of the suite, with a peek of the ocean and city views. There is large walk in shower with rain shower head and separate soaking tub. You will enjoy the king bed with hotel luxury quality bedding for a very restful stay! You will also have use of all of the common areas of the inn including the living room, dining room/coffee bar, sun room, back patio and garden areas. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS ROOM.

Very Nice Inn; Wonderful Penthouse

The penthouse at the De La Vina Inn was very nice. Hardwood floors. Spacious for an inn suite. Large private balcony with chairs and lounge chairs. Everything was in very good shape and well kept. We have stayed at several places in Santa Barbara over the years and this was probably our favorite. The common areas of the inn on the ground floor were very nice as well. Living room, dining room, enclosed porch, and kitchen (we did not use the kitchen and have no insight into what the kitchen rules are). The back yard is very nicely done with several options for seating, a fountain, string lights for the evening, and lots of greenery enclosing it. The neighborhood is pleasant and quiet. It is a little bit of a walk to the restaurants and shopping on State Street, but nothing unreasonable or difficult. We chose to walk one evening with no issues and just drove over the next evening because we planned on being out late. The beach is probably out of walking distance for most people, but it as a very short and easy drive. Management was very responsive. We had a couple of questions at different times and they responded virtually immediately to our messages each time. Overall, we were very pleased with the property. If you are looking for more than just a room and like to have a little bit more space, we definitely recommend the penthouse.

Best weekend getaway spot

All excellent, except the garbage pickup trucks noise early in the morning and Gardners started working around 10. May be it would be a good idea to halt the noisy gardner work until 11.
