Welcome to the Summerland Double Dolphin! This 5-Star rated (360+ Reviews) 2 Bedroom/1 Bath relaxing vacation custom home is within a half mile walking distance to the beach & downtown Summerland!
This perfect oasis offers many custom features including all hardwood floors, vaulted wood ceiling, extensive cabinetry, comfortable reclining sofa furniture, two flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi, fully stocked kitchen (including dishwasher), indoor & outdoor tables for dining, ceiling fans in every room, walk-in shower & a private washer and dryer. Each bedroom offers queen beds, a double door closet & plenty of space so you can really feel at home.
This rare, new single family home comes with screened, double-pane windows for a majestic ocean view and possible dolphin sightings! There are multiple private outdoor seating options, private 3-burner propane grill & secure private brick stone driveway offering parking for three vehicles. Fenced in yard and very private, the driveway has a gate that you can close.
This is the home you need for your vacation! It's located in a charming beach town that offers restaurants, shopping, markets, post office, gas station, convenience stores & a new full court basketball and tennis at the Summerland school during (none) school hours for your use, all within walking distance. The Summerland beach (Look Out Park) is operated by the County of Santa Barbara and is less than 1/2 mile from the Summerland Double Dolphin home. The park (Look out Park) offers a beautiful newly renovated playground, sand volleyball, ping pong tables, picnic tables, charcoal grills, Free parking and a Car Charging station. Great sunrise, sunsets, dolphins and whales at certain times of the year!
The town of Summerland may be quaint, but it offers something for everyone; whether you want to hike/bike the well-groomed trails and backroads, surf the world-famous Rincon, lay on the quiet beach, visit wine country, take the public bus to Santa Barbara or Carpinteria (world's safest beach!) or stay at home and watch the ocean - this is the place for you.
We are very proud of this home and have made every effort to supply everything you will need to make your vacation UNFORGETTABLE!

The setting is beautiful with view of ocean, short walk to shops and restaurants, beautiful and fragrant landscaping, and a very busy hummingbird feeder just out the window. We were pleasantly surprised by a bottle of wine that we enjoyed. There are lovely and private spaces to sit outdoors. The shower and bathroom are exceptional. Beds were comfortable and kitchen is well-stocked. I'd highly recommend staying here. Location is very convenient as well.

This is by far the best vacation rental we've ever stayed in! The hosts have anticipated and provided for any and every need their guests might have. Double Dolphin is a spacious separate unit but Debby and Rick are right next door and able to respond with a minute's notice, should there be a need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

The Double Dolphin offered an exceptional stay, with seamless booking and checkout processes. The home was spotless and well-equipped, providing everything needed for relaxation. The ocean view was stunning, complemented by hummingbirds visiting the feeder near the window. Its location was convenient, within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach, with easy drives to Santa Barbara, Montecito, and Ojai. The online listing was accurate, and although beach items like towels and chairs were unused, their availability was appreciated. The washer and dryer were especially useful after a week in Malibu. Overall, we highly recommend the property and hosts, Rick and Debby.

Short drive to hikes and good restaurants. Nice view while eating breakfast at the house, and had a great breakfast at the Summerland Beach Cafe which is a short walk. If you make coffee, use the Krups over the Mr. Coffee which is very slow. The hosts were very responsive to questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Driveway is narrow & steep and parked cars all along the street make it difficult to back out so my husband backed in driveway each time so we could pull out nose first. While the shades worked, they didn't provide the privacy we would have hoped for.

First of all, Debby & Rick are super awesome hosts who kept in touch with us the entire duration of the stay. The house is very clean, well stocked and has a great ocean view. It's a nicely built unit which is comfortable and close to everything we had planned for in and around Santa Barbara. We also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds from our window. The neighborhood is safe, quaint and has many cute shops, eateries and cafes within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay a lot and can't wait to be back!

What a beautiful place! Rick and Debby built perfection - from the detailed decor to the loving construction, they have perfected the VRBO experience. We especially enjoyed the ocean view and loved walking down to restaurants and shops. It was an added bonus to meet Rick and Debby and chat with them. The hosts were more than wonderful! When we had problems with the TV, they were there in five minutes to show us what had gone wrong. The double dolphin was a great stay. There is a cute selection of stores in the town with coffee, produce, and a few restaurants. Access to SB and Montecito is easy. The place was a great size, clean, and everything you needed.

Rick has been in construction for over 38 years, we designed and custom built the Summerland Double Dolphin to be the ideal vacation home that it is. We put our heart and soul into a place where people could come to relax, enjoy the beach and the town that we fell in love with 19 years ago. We are very proud of our home, and we think it shows. Why they chose this property

We chose this location because it allowed us to build a second home on the property to fulfill our vision of one day being able to build a new custom home that family and guests could enjoy for many years.

What makes this property unique

Being that we built this home in 2014 from the ground up we were able to truly choose the amenities that are important to us and to our guests as well. These amenities include a great ocean view allowing you to relax and watch the boats and sea life pass by. We also incorporated hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, comfortable furniture, and a kitchen dinette in a place that gets magnificent natural light. We know that everyone congregates to the kitchen so we built a great extended seating counter with backed bar stools that allow for everyone to come together and enjoy each other’s company. The home also has a customized bathroom with a large inlay glass walk in shower. The bedrooms are roomy and offer plenty of light. All the switched lighting throughout the home is customized so you can create your own mood through dimmer switches and we included ceiling fans in all the rooms. The home is very quite as it has all double pane windows with screens and solid interior alder wood doors. We put a lot of thought into the footprint of the home so that it would be very private including the patio off the master bedroom and the seating area in the backyard. A full County approved fire sprinkler system was installed for your family safety.
