Recreational 2-Story Cabin at Summit Lake - Near Paxson, AK
2-story dry recreational cabin on the hillside above Summit Lake. This is a popular area for snowmachining, skiing, ice fishing, hiking, hunting, or 4-wheeling. Beautiful mountain views. (Dry means no running water or toilet.)
SUMMER ACCESS - Accessible by vehicle in the summer (June-October).
There is a steep gravel road just off of the Richardson Hwy to access the area. 4-wheel/all-wheel drive is recommended but usually not required.
WINTER ACCESS - Accessible by snowmachine/ski/snowshoe (20 min hike from road) in the winter (November - May).

Mile 195.5 Richardson Hwy. (Located approximately 1/4 mile from the hwy)
Distance from Fairbanks: 175 miles
Distance from Delta Junction: 71 miles
Distance from Glenallen: 80 miles
Distance from Anchorage: 260
Distance from Castner Glacier pull-out: 22 miles
AMENITIES:
Power - The cabin is wired for power and a generator will be available for use.
Cooking - BBQ grill, propane stovetop, microwave
Sleeping arrangements - 2 twin beds (trundle),1 queen bed, 1 queen futon, 1 queen pull-out couch. Bedding is provided.
Heat - The cabin is heated with a woodstove and propane heater. In the middle of winter, it takes about 3-4 hours to fully heat the cabin. Visitors should be knowledgeable in using a woodstove.
Water - Dry means: outhouse and no running water. Bring your own drinking & cooking water.
Communication - AT&T cell service is pretty good in this location.
Other - Be prepared to shovel out the doorway in the winter if the snow has drifted.
24 hrs required between rentals so check-in/out times can be flexible.
There is a 12x16 bunkhouse on the property which is also available for rent. VRBO #2185022
