Surprise gem of a property

I almost missed this property and I am so glad I didn't. I regret I was only able to stay for one night during my travel to West Texas to see family. I tried to book it on my way home, but it was taken already. I will definitely return. The house is a treasure with so many details you may miss if you are not careful. I had my little dog and he enjoyed snooping around the yard. I did get to visit the piggies and thoroughly enjoyed the time and stores behind the non-profit. I can't wait to return.

No air conditioning

There is not a 1 bedroom. Only loft. AC is a tiny window unit that has no hope of cooling the space where the beds are. Especially when it is 107 degrees. Definitely misrepresented. Caveat emptor ( buyer beware )

Texas Getaway

Stayed here over a weekend with my wife while we were visiting family in Childress. We loved how secluded it was and experiencing all of the wildlife and the beautiful Texas sunsets. Amie is a terrific host and was very easy to communicate with. She also has a great story and the proceeds go to a great cause. Highly recommend staying here!

About the host

Host profile image
I'm a 48 year old single woman with no children. I run a dog rescue for bulldogs and pugs and have numerous elderly, special needs, and behavioral dogs in my Sanctuary. I love photography, nature, baking and experimenting with healthy cooking. I also love to ride my Harley. Most of all I love the outdoors!

Why they chose this property

This is a family property that belonged to my father. I now own it, and 100% of all profits benefit the dog rescue Chloe's canines dog sanctuary and a spay/neuter program I'm implementing for the small towns around Amarillo Texas. I've run a dog rescue for the past 20 years and have saved thousands of lives but nothing will help as much as a sterilization program. I'm happy for you to be apart of this solution by booking with us. So not only do you have an amazing property to relax on, your stay is helping others and it's always important to give back to your community.

What makes this property unique

All profits benefit a spay and neuter program for the Amarillo Texas area and surrounding counties. This property lies in an area known for Native American activities and is close to several tourist areas.
