Walk to Lake + Stock Tank Pool + Fire Pit

Get away from it all but still stay close to everything at Camp South Shore. Lounge in hammocks in the pine tree forest. Drink coffee on the back deck while looking for birds. Play foosball or board games in the game room. Grill out in the backyard while playing corn hole. Float in the stock tank pool. Walk a mile to the lake for kayaking, fishing, miniature golf, and miles of hiking. Great for families, family friends, or couples. Only 3 minutes from downtown Bastrop and 45 minutes from Austin.

The home sits on nearly an acre of pine forest in the Lost Pines Conservation Area. Everything is at your fingertips: Adirondack chairs around a fire pit for S'mores, games and activities for the kids or the young at heart, two bedrooms with luxurious king-sized beds with memory foam toppers, a game room with two sets of bunk beds (4 beds total in that room). There are three TVs: one 65" TV and two 55" TVs. All linens and towels are washed and sanitized prior to your arrival.

The kitchen is highly functional and organized with a large area for prepping food or gathering on barstools. You'll have access to two different types of coffee makers, a microwave, wine glasses, blender, grill, baking supplies, Tupperware, etc.

The dining room table expands to seat up to 8 people. The sectional couch is great for larger groups.

The back deck has two lounge chairs and a grill. The pine forest backyard features a stock tank pool (10' wide x 2' deep).

The property is less than 1 mile away from Lake Bastrop down a tree-lined road, a 5-minute drive from Bastrop State Park (with a community swimming pool during the summer), 3 miles from the Bastrop historic downtown with quaint shops and several restaurants, 30 minutes away from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Circuit of the Americas, and a quick 45 minutes away from everything Austin has to offer.

And check-in can start as early as 3pm! Dogs are welcome for an extra $25 fee (for each dog). Please reach out to owner for approval.

Guys Fishing Trip

Have stayed at many Vrbos, and this by far has been the best. For us it was location, location, and location. Closed to the lake, great eating establishments and stores. House is well designed for our type of vacation. A complete package deal and will for sure come back in a heartbeat when the time is right. Host was a very timely communicator about any concerns we had. Thanks Sara for a great time.

Property was just as decribed! Wonderful area and was perfect for our golf trip. Also very close to Austin for day trips. Host was very attentive to messages and made sure we had all information needed for our stay. Definitely recommend and will stay here again if possible

Great escape in piney woods

My family and I stayed for a long weekend. The house was done well with plenty of games for my kids. The lake was close and convenient to go fish. I would recommend this to a family.

Beautiful house in a great location.

This beautiful and comfortable house surrounded by pine trees provides a wonderful escape from busy city vibe but is still very conveniently located to any thing you might want or need. So peaceful and relaxing. Plus, the Cowboy pool provided an easy way to stay cool during the extremely hot weather. Would love to visit again one day!

Beautiful house with great amenities!

This property was perfect for my family and friends. We brought out kids and they really enjoyed the inside and outside of the house. The game room got a ton of use, as well as the fire pit and stock tank pool. The house was very clean with everything needed for our young kids. We would love to stay here again!

The inside of the house was very clean, the outside (and deck)is messy because of pine trees and needles. The only reason I gave a three stars for accuracy of listing is it isn't an easy walk to the lake, the road is busy, it's narrow no walking path. The park is clean. little kids could not do it or a stroller

Wonderful getaway

We came for a short anniversary getaway and loved the home. It was spacious, clean, and had plenty to do. We are looking forward to coming back with our kids as it was a super kid friendly place with lots of kids toys available, good seating for a family space and lots of comfy bed options. My only hope is the doors in the bedrooms get a covering as we didn't get to sleep in due to light coming in the door windows with no coverings. Minor issue only. Host is very friendly and very responsive upon booking. Property was nice a quiet too but s short drive to lots of stuff to do.

Lovely Escape for a Family Wedding

We had the best time at this property! We had a cousin getting married in Bastrop and didn't feel like making the trek down from the Pflugerville area on the wedding day with young kids. We ended up making a weekend out of it and booked with another cousin and her kids. Overall we had 4 adults and 4 kids. This house was really perfect for us. Our older boys (7yo) had a blast playing in the "boys room". It was so nice to have a VRBO truly think about and cater to families with kids. The toys, the video games, the foosball table....everything was a hit with the kids ranging in age from 3 to 7. They explored in the woods, played on the hammocks, etc. We dropped by the lake on the way out. Our boys are already asking when we can go back. I also didn't realize how charming Bastrop is. Great house with great hosts who truly thought of everything. Loved it <3

This is our second stay and we had another beautiful time. Sara was very helpful and responsive when we ran into a snag with the keyless entry. The house is very inviting and we loved the occasional deer visitors in the backyard at dusk. It is quiet and a great location to relax and rejuvenate after a day at COTA.

Spent a weekend in this exceptionally clean/bright, well-appointed house as part of a girls weekend during Round Top. The house was decorated in a sophisticated but relaxed way, and had more than everything for our needs! It was about 45 min over to the Round Top festivities, but being on the closer side of Austin (home) and near Bastrop for added restaurant options was excellent. We even made it over to the lake for a nice morning walk - literally just down the road. I would highly recommend this house for small adult groups or families that could really take advantage of the big back yard and pool, which we didn’t have time to use.

Perfect family home

We had a wonderful time at Sara’s home. It was well-appointed and beautifully decorated. We were traveling with 3 young kids so the bunk bed room was perfect for them, not to mention all the games/toys that were in there! The pool was also a big hit! Small touches like noise machines in every room and well-placed furniture really helped make our stay comfortable and seamless.

We absolutely loved this property! The pool was perfect for our kids as well as the bunk/game room. So much do in Bastrop and the helpful hints binder was great! Would definitely come back and recommend to others. The only thing we wished we had was an outdoor dining table and blinds for the back door in the bunk bed room. Thanks, again!

We knew we had to purchase this property as soon as we turned onto the road lined with towering loblolly pine trees. Camp South Shore is just minutes away from everything the quaint town of Bastrop has to offer. But it feels like a world away. The hammocks are truly my happy place!
