Everything was awesome. The views and the quiet. The moonlight off the lake. My only note is it is not for someone older in life or handicapped. The land is steep; but that is also part of its charm.

Very musty
The house was nice but very musty smelling. I've stayed in other lakefront cottages that didn’t have odor issues.
Great weekend retreat. We loved the secluded area, and the lake access was great! The stairs to the lake are very long, however we didn't mind it too much. Our dogs loved the place. I would consider renting the cabin again.
The Cottage was the perfect place for family members to stay during our recent get-together. It was within short walking distance from the Lake House, where other family members were staying. In turn, the Lake House guests enjoyed walking down to the Cottage and shoreline to play and splash around in the Lake. The view of Seneca Lake from the Cottage decks is breathtaking!

Great Location Cluttered Cabin
We loved the location and having lake access. We didn't love the air conditioners that always turned off because of the humidity. Cabin was cluttered which caused parts to be dirty. No curtains on the windows.
This rental is exactly as described. Tucked away in the trees with a beautiful view of the lake. Everything you need to relax is provided, and whays not your told to bring. Read the rental description, lots of stairs to the beach but totally worth it. The driveway is kind of steep, but maintained well. We will definitely be back. Owners were pleasant and easy to communicate with.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The house is very comfortable, clean, and beautiful. The lake views were amazing. The beach was gorgeous. We got to use the canoes and the kayaks. We visited nearby Watkins Glen and some local wineries and farms. Definitely an unforgettable stay!
Cabin puts you in close proximity to many great places. Please be sure you know what you are renting before you book. If you want seclusion in the forests hillside then this is for you.
Great location-near Watkins Glen and wineries. The hill and stairs to lake was no joke, but we didn't mind the short walk. Tons of privacy, great views on both levels. Home was fully equipped both indoors and out. Was clean and in generally great shape. We enjoyed our stay.
It was a cozy place. Loved the deck and fire pit. Thankfully it was nice enough to spend most of the time outside as the inside was a little small for 6 ladies to all be inside. Owner was very friendly and responsive to messages during the weekend.
We used the cottage for extra space for our family of 17 on our recent stay. The young adults really enjoyed the “camping in the woods” vibe without having to rough it, while the older folks and younger kids had the main house. The cottage was comfortable, quiet, and has a fantastic view of the lake from the TWO porches! They really enjoyed the lake and the water was a very nice temperature for swimming.
Property is clean and rustic. The balconies are great and provide great views of Seneca Lake. The only reason for a 4 star are the stairs. Lots of stairs!! Make sure you are in adequate shape before booking this one. Great lake area to hang out once you are down the stairs.
The cabin is rustic just as described in the listing. Its tucked just far enough into the woods for privacy. It had everything we needed for the three days we stayed. What we absolutely loved about this cabin was the amazing view of the lake off the back deck, the great location, and the lake access. We used the kayaks, paddle board, and swam in the lake. We enjoyed campires every night by the lake. I definitely would recommend this cabin. We hope to return some day!
We had a wonderful stay at this rustic cabin overlooking the lake. We spent almost all of our time on one of the two spacious decks. Beautiful sunrises and moon rises. Very peaceful. The decks were covered, so still fine in the rain. There were 2 of us and it was very comfortable....6 would be VERY cozy!
The water "toys" were all in good shape and easy to use. As well, there were nice adirondeck chairs for around the fire pit lakeside.
It was a secluded but very convenient location.....a quick drive into Watkins Glen as well as the local wineries, distilleries and breweries (and of course the creamery around the corner)
The cabin was comfortable and equipped with what we needed (yet we did not cook at the cabin).
We did read the reviews and were very aware of the steep walk from the parking down to the cabin and then the many steps down to the water. Also the need for a good handling car to get from the parking area up the steep driveway. I moved my car into AWD to get out.
The host was very easy to communicate with and we had no problems while we were there.
We will go back again and recommend to others. It is perfect if you know what you are getting.
I took my 2 teenage daughters and my 71-year-old mother and our dog to the cabin. It was an amazing vacation!! The house was small and quaint with incredible views of the lake. For the four of us it was a perfect size when we needed to spread out We used the kayaks and canoes every day by the beach and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house. Every night we had a fire at the fire pit by the water. Small kitchen but everything that you need, great water Pressure and nice to have two bathrooms the downstairs one has the shower. Spent a lot of time on the porch just looking at the sky, the mountains and the lake. Perfect temperature for sleeping at night with the breeze through all of the windows. There was no one at the bed-and-breakfast when we were there so we had the walkway and beach to ourselves. Thank you Michele for being a great host and we loved your cabin. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Me, my girlfriend and her dog stayed 4 nights and were beyond pleased. We loved the tucked-away seclusion of the cottage, the expansive views of the lake, and the slice of lakefront property for dock fishing and sitting by the fire. As other folks have mentioned, navigating the stairs between cottage and beachfront requires a degree of ability and fitness.
We found the living spaces to be cozy, tidy and cabin-clean, with thoughtful touches for organization and hanging of coats, towels and the like. The kitchen has everything we needed to prepare meals (bonus: outdoor grill with propane supplied), and the furniture inside and out were amply comfortable for relaxing and gazing out over the lake with coffee or wine. The location also affords easy driving access to local wineries, farm markets and creameries, plus the town, trails and green spaces of Watkins Glen.
I appreciated that Michele set clear expectations for our comfort (e.g. bringing extra layers and blankets for the cool April nights) and thoughtfully checked in to see that we were well situated after arrival. We would stay at her property again without reservation!
If you value quiet wooded surroundings, direct lake access, and are comfortable in a relatively rustic cabin space (e.g. you don't mind the occasional bug, using space heaters & electric fireplace for warmth if needed, hand washing dishes) this may be a great fit for you.
