About Bonnie Zapf
I am an experienced mortgage loan officer with approx. 30 years experience in first time homebuyers loans including FHA & VA loans. My husband passed away 2 1/2 years ago. The home is for rent and sale at this time.
Bonnie Zapf purchased this House in 1999
Why Bonnie Zapf chose Twin Oaks
I live in Northern Virginia and wanted something within 1 1/2 hrs. from our home. We searched for 2 years and found this lot in 1995, built our custom home in 1999. The location is perfect. Our home is comparable to the luxury Ocean Front homes on the Outer Banks at a fraction of the rental cost. We sold Sound Front lot on the Outer Banks to build this home.
What makes this House unique
Farm animals, wildlife and a gorgeous view -- its a perfect place to relax and unwind. I love sitting on the covered dock watching the world go by. In the evening, we sit on the deck under the pergola and enjoy the sounds of nature. The sky is filled with stars which are so clearly visible. It's a beautiful setting!!!

Lake Anna vacation
Had a great relaxing week at Lake Anna at this beautiful home. The house is huge, plenty of room for everyone to be together or to spread out and have their own space - whether indoors or out. Thank you for sharing your home!
Thank you and family for taking great care of my home.
Perfect house for fun on Lake Anna
This is by far the best house we have rented for our summer vacation. The location was perfect--close to Food Lion and restaurants, but in a quiet upscale neighborhood. All of us love the water and it’s right on Lake Anna with a sandy beach where you can walk right in as well as a multiple boat dock with a ladder and a fire pit! Since some of us have limited mobility, the golf cart was great! We spent a lot of time swimming, sitting and talking! The pictures on this site are lovely, but the house was even better than what we expected.
There was every amenity I could think of, including 4 different ways to make coffee! We didn’t even get to play ping pong, because it was so sunny, but we played games and sat on the deck and looked at the water and enjoyed the fire pit. We really appreciated the open space on the main floor so that we could all talk and cook together. With 8-10 of us, some of us flying in from the West Coast, I was really touched by the owner’s generosity in sharing this place. It was like renting a whole resort.
Not only is it well designed for enjoying time at the lake, but it’s a beautiful, huge house with incredible hardwood floors and impeccable air conditioning. And, the owner is immediately responsive if you have a question.
We had so much fun that the week went by before we knew it! We would recommend this house and rent it again!!
Family Time at Lake Anna
The house was beautiful. Lots of room. Great kitchen. The downstairs area was huge. We enjoyed games of ping pong. Owner was very responsive.
Wonderful home for a large group
Bonnie's home was wonderful for our annual family vacation. It is not simply a rental house, but clearly a home that is cared for. There is more than enough space for everyone and the nearby boat launch is a nice bonus. Bonnie was very communicative and the check-in and out process was easy. The home's location is excellent for both water sports and running to the Food Lion just 10 minutes away.
Beautiful large home- we were a family of 12- plenty of room for all of us. Fully equipped kitchen
Excellent vacation- our first time at a lake… We always do the ocean. The house is very large and comfortable. Our host was excellent in communicating. We did let her know on the top floor room (where we had all the kids)The air condition was not working properly so made for some hot nights!
At first seeing the water front, we were a little taken back, as it is a small community ‘marina’. Swimming close to the boats made me nervous. But after the first day the experience was great because you’re in your own Cove-so the kids were able to kayak in there without getting onto the main part of the lake.
We had brought our bikes down, but the neighborhood Road is very short so the only places to bike was the park... which is only about 15 minutes away. Beautiful area- will definitely go back!
